Continuation of basketball players in Northern Idaho you should check out for yourself!

[player_tooltip player_id="923114" first="Nathan" last="Hocking"] | Lake City High School 23’

Nathan is a "glue guy" that every coach is looking for. Nathan is going to do whatever it takes to help the team and can do a little of everything! Nathan has a solid frame standing at 6’6 215 lbs and is very athletic. A very coachable kid that will do whatever it takes to win. He is one of the most unselfish ballplayers you are going to find. Nathan is an excellent offensive rebounder frequently resulting in second-chance points for his team. Nathan is to be respected outside of the arc as he can shoot it pretty well, especially if he sees a couple go in and gains confidence. Even though Nathan can play in the paint, he isn’t a player you want to just sit in the paint. He can do a lot of things well on the basketball court so to put him in a box is just crazy. Great kid!

[player_tooltip player_id="1510368" first="Christian" last="Von Bruck"] | Post Falls High School 25’

Christian is a 6’3 freshman and is still growing. Christian is only 14 so he is still a little raw, but he has some good intangibles already. He is a good catch-and-shoot guy but can shoot it off the bounce a little bit, which I expect him to improve on this during the spring/summer. He is one of the guys expected to carry a good amount of responsibility for the Trojans as he starts as a freshman. Christian is quite savvy in the lane and is able to make some tough shots at the rim, or even grab offensive rebounds. He is a kid that has obviously worked on his game as his skills are ahead of most of the other freshmen in the program, which is a nod to his dedication to the game and himself.

[player_tooltip player_id="1463619" first="Tyras" last="Blake"] | Post Falls High School 25’

Tyras is another raw, young talent Post Falls has playing on varsity as a freshman and given a bit of responsibility. He seems to understand the game and makes good decisions most of the time, but again he’s only 14, and mistakes are expected. He shoots the ball with confidence and can knock it down from 18 feet. He is in the trees battling for rebounds and putting in the effort to win extra possessions. Given this spring/summer I expect Tyras to mature more and gain more confidence in himself and his game.

[player_tooltip player_id="923084" first="Steven" last="Burgess"] | Coeur d’Alene High School 23’

Steven is a guard that is able to score easily by breaking down his defender off the dribble and can shoot the midrange off the bounce pretty well. But Steven is also a guard who loves to find his teammates in scoring opportunities and rewards them for getting open and working hard. He is a guard that is willing to give up an open layup to give his teammate an alley-oop, or even a simple pass to help his teammates gain some confidence by seeing the ball go in the basket. Steven is a bigger guard that can post up smaller guards and has the speed/quickness, and skill to score with his back to the basket. Steven is a good catch-and-shoot guy as well, and if you don’t respect his jumper from 18 feet and he sees a couple go in, you are in for a long ride.

Reese Strawn | Lake City High School 25’

Reese is a high motor, hustle kid that can do some crazy things on the basketball court. Reese plays hard on the defensive end by sitting down and guarding his man with relentless effort, and he is getting his hands in the passing lanes resulting in frequent steals or tips. He is also a solid shooter that is able to knock down jumpers with or without someone contesting him. He is a solid enough ball-handler to be able to effectively use a pick and roll and either get in the lane for a tough finish or pass to an open teammate by drawing help from the defense. He’s still young and I don’t see him slowing down on the progression of his skills or even the physical development. Exciting that I get to witness this progression over the next few years.
