The always-loaded event had some of the top SoCal high school programs and prospects line it up for an eight game event. Below are the game results and first set of top performers from the senior class.
Rancho Verde 61, Oak Hills 51
St. Francis 64, Long Beach Poly 60
Rolling Hills Prep 68, Saugus 58
Los Altos 61, Hillcrest 50
St. Anthony 60, Capistrano Valley Christian 59
Harvard-Westlake 79, Birmingham 55
Etiwanda 53, Colony 52
Corona Centennial 72, Crean Lutheran 57
Koat Keat Koat Keat 6'9" | PF Crean Lutheran | 2022 State #100 Nation CA-S , Crean Lutheran – Keat notched a double-double in defeat, finishing with 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Saints. The 6-foot-9 forward does a little bit of everything for Crean Lutheran from interior scoring to ball handling to passing and rebounding. Keat, a UC Santa Barbara-signee, has great feel and IQ for the game and makes the Saints a better team with his unselfishness and willingness to be a playmaker for others.
Larry Olayinka, Birmingham – This was our first look at Olayinka this season and we were impressed with what he brought to the table. The 6-foot-8 forward is a fluid and bouncy athlete with all the size and length measureables you look for in a next-level prospect. He’s still raw when it comes to his offensive repertoire, but he has good hands and touch around the basket and runs the floor with energy and purpose.
Makiah Williams, Capistrano Valley Christian – The matchup against St. Anthony held a bit more meaning for Williams as he transferred from the Saints to CVC prior to this season. You could see the 6-foot-1 guard pressing for shots early, but once he settled in he went to work like we’re used to him doing. Williams, an unsigned senior, finished with a team-high 22 points, but unfortunately fouled out of the game with four minutes to play.
Ramsey Huff Ramsey Huff 6'1" | CG Corona Centennial | 2022 State CA-S , Corona Centennial – Huff is the unsung hero for a Centennial lineup that features so many highly-recruited players. The unsigned senior knocked down five three-point shots and played great defense against a very talented Crean Lutheran back-court. Huff sometimes gets overshadowed by the star-studded Huskies’ lineup, but there are plenty of instances where he flashes his value to his high school team and his potential to college programs.
Quinton Webb Quinton Webb 6'7" | PF Etiwanda | 2022 State CA-S , Etiwanda – Everything Webb does is vital to Etiwanda being as good as it is. The 6-foot-6 forward, who technically plays the five-spot for the Eagles, is so versatile on the defensive end and effective on the glass, that it allows Etiwanda to create different lineups around Webb. The New Mexico-bound senior finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds in Etiwanda’s one-point win over Colony.
