Macon Tournament: Class of 2022 Standouts

Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top Class of 2022 players from this weekend’s Macon Tournament. Undefeated Mexico rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to defeat Kirksville for the championship.   <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/Isaiah-Reams.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1166032" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/Isaiah-Reams-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a> [player_tooltip player_id="984957" first="Isaiah" last="Reams"] (Mexico): The 6'0" 2022 point guard scored 12 points in the Bulldogs victory in the championship game against Kirksville. After a quiet first half where he went scoreless, the smooth lefty picked up the pace in the second half as he scored on one penetrating drive after another. He was also dropping some nice dimes to open teammates for easy layups during Mexico's big rally from a 15-point halftime deficit.     <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/5CCB3BDB-4DB8-4743-8B5A-3E0EE3410483.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1212584" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/5CCB3BDB-4DB8-4743-8B5A-3E0EE3410483-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a> Michael White (Mexico): The 6'2" 2022 wing scored 12 points in the championship game and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team. He's a very athletic slashing who plays with a big motor at both ends of the court. He's constantly attacking the basket and staying active on the boards. He is also a big asset when the Bulldogs pick up the full court pressure defense.       <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/5C2598DF-F30B-4889-98E7-CDE78E1446EB.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1212579" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/5C2598DF-F30B-4889-98E7-CDE78E1446EB-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a> [player_tooltip player_id="992311" first="Tanner" last="Lanes"] (Harrisburg): The 6'4" 2022 guard was named to the All-Tournament Team, plus he scored his 1000th career point in the process. He scored a game-high 26 points in a victory over Mexico in the third-place game. He is a versatile bucket-getter who also handles the ball and facilitates the offense as well. He's an active player with plenty of bounce around the basket. His footwork is excellent and he has a nice spin move in traffic. He had a few entertaining dunks along while mixing in the jumper. He scored 22 points in the victory over Marceline in the fifth-place game.   Daeye Miller (Mexico): A 6'4" 2022 forward who scored 13 points in the championship game victory over Kirksville. He has the build of a slender wing player, but he excels inside with his athletic ability and high rate of activity. He closed out the championship game with six consecutive points on a layup in traffic, followed up by a pair of transition dunks on steals that electrified the fans in the building.   Jace Carr (Harrisburg): The 6'4" 2022 forward got loose in the third-place game against Macon as he scored 19 points in the victory. He really got busy in the first quarter as he hit a pair of nice turnaround jumpers in the lane and also scored on an offensive putback. He has solid moves in the post and he screens well inside and gets himself open.
