has had two impressive days at the Capitol Hoops Challenge. David showed a lot of his offensive game over the weekend. He had a handful of impressive finishes that showcased his craftiness and athleticism. He knocked down threes at an impressive clip as well. David is elite in space and is a difficult guy to stay in front of. He finished with 21 for Friendship Tech in their Overtime loss to McNamara.

Athletic combo guard a dynamic transition scorer, good burst, great athlete and finisher, can shoot it, hit his teammates with a flurry of passes. David is a one of the most under-rated players in the city of Washington, DC. David is a legit college prospect.

had a very steady game for Tech Prep as they went head-to-head with GTown Prep. Bumpass got to the rim pretty much at will, simply using his first step or making a quick change of direction and lining himself up for a straight drive towards the rim. He had some very strong finishes once he drove to the basket and went up against the help D. Made some nice jumpers as well. Very efficient game from Bumpass, but probably could’ve had even more points if he chose to attack a bit more offensively. He is capable of being a reliable 1st or 2nd scoring option on this talented roster when he’s on his game.

Previous Rank: 32
-Bumpass has continued to climb the 2025 rankings as a versatile scoring guard that can fill it up from the perimeter. His play during DC Live boosted his recruitment as he showed college coaches that he has the ability to hit C+S looks from beyond the arc, can get to his spots and into his pull-up jumpshot smoothly from the midrange, and has improved his ability to finish around the basket. The next step in his development will be to use the gravity that comes with scoring in bunches to create for his teammates in the halfcourt when he begins to see more double-teams and traps.

30p 7r 2a 1b 1s vs Hayfield
-Bumpass has really improved his body over the past year, adding muscle while packing on some additional burst off the bounce– and his game is really rounding to form. A 3-level scorer that can get to the rim with ease, stop on a dime and knock down midrange jumpers, hit floaters in the paint, get to the line, and cash out from beyond the arc
