This article will cover a lot of very talented 2022 guards from SWO that we saw from this past weekend at Flyin’ to the Hoop.

[player_tooltip player_id="1082241" first="Keon" last="Wright"] (2022). G 6’1. Oakwood

Wright is a very nice PG for Oakwood. He runs the offense very well with his tight handle and really good decision-making. He is very athletic and uses it on his jump shots as he elevates very high on them. He is very good at getting to the basket and finishing. He does a very good job of using his body to create space when driving and is not afraid to throw it into the biggest player. He came up big for Oakwood as he hit a big-time three with less than two minutes left in their game against Africentric.

PG 5’11. Dayton Dunbar

Leslie is a very shift and crafty point guard for Dunbar. He has a very tight handle on the ball that leads him into scoring positions. He is very nice at making the correct reads when driving and seeing the whole floor. Leslie is very nice at simply putting the ball in the bucket and impressed me once again.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045464" first="Dasan" last="Doucet"] (2022). G 6’4.
[player_tooltip player_id="1045464" first="Dasan" last="Doucet"] plays a big scoring role for the Firebirds and he fills that role very well. He has some very nice moves that give him space, including some lethal crossovers. He also has a very nice size up-and-go game. He uses these moves and size ups too primarily to get to the rim and he does get there he has great touch. Doucet had very nice complimentary size and athleticism to him as well allowing him to take a hit and still finish the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="809611" first="Mekhi" last="Elmore"] (2022). G 6’1. Cincinnati Taft

Elmore has a very nice-looking jumper and is a great finisher. He has some good athleticism as well - he is quick, fast, and has very nice and sneaky bounce. Elmore also can cook defenders with his nice moves and tight handle. This allows him to get driving lanes and space to get his shot up.

G 6’2. Fairfield

Tolbert has a very nice stroke and moves. He can score against any type of defender. He finished the game against SVSM on Sunday with 18 points. He has a nice mature and strong build that helps offensively and defensively. Tolbert knows how to put the ball in the basket.

Jack Epley is a nice guard for Oakwood. He has a very nice touch when he gets into the lane while driving. He attacks the basket very aggressively. He plays his tail off as well, a very competitive kid that wants to win. He came up big for Oakwood as he got a huge offense board and acrobatic and-1 late.
