Bundy’s Week 8 Player Evaluations: 2022s

This week, I spent some time checking out some online streams including the postponed final games of the Greene County Invitational. Additionally, I was able to check out the Johnson County Tournament quarterfinals. Check out some of the player evals from these two county tournaments.   <h3 style="text-align: center;">Player Evaluations</h3>   DeShawn Clark (North Central-Farmersburg) – 2022 6’0" SG Clark is a big wing with a ton of length who did a lot of things well on the court in this one. On the offensive end of the floor, Clark sees the floor well and is able to set up his teammates. However, he is almost always looking to score with the ball in his hands. He has a quick first step and goes strong to the hole. He can also shoot it well from the outside and knock down 3 threes in the win. Clark ended with 22 points and 4 assists in the win.   [player_tooltip player_id="870310" first="Coy" last="Gilbert"] (Shakamak) – 2022 6’1" SG Gilbert is an outstanding shooter and scorer, and it is pretty crazy how quiet his recruitment has been thus far. He shot the ball off the charts in the loss as he finished with 28 points on 11-21 and 4-7 from three. He is great on the catch and shoot, and he doesn’t force shots despite being the top scorer on the team. Gilbert also plays with a ton of heart which is great to see. D3 clubs should 100% be looking at this kid.   Drew Higdon (Whiteland) – 2022 6’3” SG Higdon had one of the best games that I have seen this year in their win. He finished with 18 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals on 7-9 shooting. He sees the floor well and comes up with some nice passes, but he can also stroke it from the outside. He basically did it all for Whiteland, and he had great hands on the defensive end and jumped passing lanes well.   [player_tooltip player_id="1295354" first="Kyson" last="Jones"] (Whiteland) – 2022 6’2” PG Jones is a quick guard who really did it all for Whiteland. On the defensive end of the floor, he was a lock-down defender, and he was jumping passing lanes and using active hands to come up with 7 steals. He also came up with 7 rebounds and 6 assists while crashing the glass and setting up his teammates. Jones could be the player to give Whiteland the edge in March.   [player_tooltip player_id="870229" first="Maxwell" last="Sullivan"] (Whiteland) – 2022 6’6” PF Sullivan is a big forward who is a star on the football field. He is committed to playing quarterback at Ball State next season, but on the basketball court, he attacks the glass in a major way. He is strong and physical on the glass, and he came up with several second-chance points. Sullivan had 13 points and 7 boards in the win.   Tyler Vaughn (North Central-Farmersburg) – 2022 5’8" PG Vaughn is a smaller guard who was the spark for this Thunderbirds offense. He has a nice three-point stroke and was money from the corner on the catch and shoot. He also uses his quickness to attack the rim, and he almost always looks for contact. He got to the line 13 times in this one, and he cashed in 9 times. Vaughn used his hustle and energy to create a spark, and his 22 points and 7 rebounds were the reason that North Central was able to pull away in the second half.
