The Boardwalk Showcase was a prime example of that as multiple players had big time performances over the course of the day. Here are the top stock risers from the Boardwalk Showcase.
Nate Williams Nate Williams 6'4" | SG St. John Vianney | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SG St. John Vianney 2022
Williams has been a big-time scorer for the Lancers all season and continued his scoring tear against the Colts. The 6’4 guard was hard to contain off the bounce as he was able to consistently get into the lane and finish through contact around the basket. Williams was drilling triples from deep including a pair of big threes late in the second half to keep St. John Vianney in the game. He facilitated the offense and made plays on the defensive end. Williams should continue to light up the score board as the season rolls on for St. John Vianney.
Pat Lautato, 6’3 SG/SF CBA 2022
Lautato did whatever the Colts needed him to do against the Lancers as he put his all-around game on display. The 6’3 wing is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and does not mind drawing contact. Lautato has a nice release on his jumper and is unafraid of taking big shots in key situations. He had a huge rebound after a one-and-one to seal the victory and slid his feet defensively against Williams. Lautato’s ability to affect the game in multiple ways is something that will help CBA in a big way as the season progresses.
Darius Adams, 6’2 SG Manasquan 2025
Adams was in control from the opening tip as he keyed the Warriors’ victory over St. Joe’s Metuchen. The 6’2 guard used his handle effectively as he was able to blow by his defender and create space for himself on the perimeter. Adams has a smooth shooting stroke and does not mind drawing contact on his way to the basket. He moved well without the ball, creating open opportunities for himself. Adams is one of the top freshmen in the state and he showed why at the Boardwalk Showcase.
Alex Bauman Alex Bauman 6'4" | SF Red Bank Catholic | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SF Red Bank Catholic 2022
Bauman did a little bit of everything for the Caseys as he was a standout on both ends of the floor. The 6’4 dual sport athlete used his strong frame to get position down low and muscled shots up through contact. Bauman ran the offense effectively and made several good passes throughout the course of the game. He ripped down rebounds on both ends of the floor and made plays on the defensive end. Bauman is a versatile wing prospect who does what it takes to win at both ends of the floor.
Owen Griffin Owen Griffin 6'4" | SF St. Joe's Metuchen | 2024 State NJ , 6’4 SF St. Joe’s Metuchen 2024
Ethan Simmon Ethan Simmon 6'4" | SG St. Joe's Metuchen | 2022 State NJ took home the game MVP for the Falcons, but Griffin’s play off the bench sparked the team. The 6’4 wing hustled for rebounds on both ends of the floor and was unafraid of Manasquan’s bigger frontcourt. Griffin finished nicely around the basket and showed off a nice touch on his free throws. He was a versatile defender as he defended several different positions during the game. If Griffin is able to continue this level of play, then he should see his playing time increase in a big way.
