The Prep Hoops MD/DC team just recently updated the 2022 rankings and now it is time to take a dive into the latest updates. Below is a breakdown of the top five combo/shooting guards.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="904621" first="Rodney" last="Rice"] | 6’4 | DeMatha (Virginia Tech)

Somewhat of a no brainer at who is coming in at number one on this list, Rice has certified himself as one of the best scorers in all of high school basketball. Rice can tear apart defenses with his ability to shoot the ball as he can get going in bunches. Virginia Tech is getting a dead eye shooter that will be depended on to make shots as soon as he arrives in Blacksburg.

6. [player_tooltip player_id="777071" first="Christian" last="Winborne"] | 6’2 | Gilman (St. Joe’s)

The St. Joe’s commit is our second ranked combo guard and is a guy that I still think is underrated on a national level. Winborne is a do it all guard that can pass the ball at an elite level but also score when needed. Expect Winborne to make noise early on in the A10.

9. [player_tooltip player_id="837919" first="Tyson" last="Commander"] | 6’4 | John Carroll

Commander slid into number 9 overall in our latest rankings update and is our third ranked combo guard. The John Carroll product has continued to be a consistent scorer at different levels and as of now is planning on taking a prep year at Mt. Zion next year.

14. [player_tooltip player_id="904640" first="Dylan" last="Williamson"] | 6’0 | Good Counsel (Towson)

Coming in as our 4th ranked combo guard is Towson commit, [player_tooltip player_id="904640" first="Dylan" last="Williamson"]. I might be higher on Williamson then some and I think he has the potential to be a first team all WCAC member this season. Williamson is a fast pace guard that has some good playmaking skills and is a really solid get for Towson.

16. [player_tooltip player_id="904682" first="Kyle" last="Pulliam"] | 6’3 | Good Counsel

Rounding out the top five combo guard list, is Williamson’s running mate, [player_tooltip player_id="904682" first="Kyle" last="Pulliam"]. Pulliam has made great strides over the last year and a half earning himself to be the 16th ranked prospect overall. Pulliam, who has a high basketball IQ, can do a lot at the two guard position and remains one of the top unsigned seniors in the DMV.
