Prospects around the state are trying to finish the season strong, especially in the Burlington County Scholastic League. Here are the BCSL players set to finish out the opening week strong.
Sean Hargrow Sean Hargrow 6'4" | SG Doane Academy | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SG Doane Academy 2022
Hargrow has gotten off to a strong start this season for Doane Academy and is looking to have a big game against Cinnaminson on Friday. The 6’4 guard has a nice release on his jumper and does not force shots in the half court. Hargrow is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the deck and finish around the rim. He moves well off the ball and is a good rebounder for a guard. Doane Academy is playing in its first game of 2022 on Friday and Hargow should open up the year strong.
Khalil Tucker Khalil Tucker SG Riverside | 2022 State NJ , SG Riverside 2022
Tucker has been on a scoring tear to start his final varsity season with two 30-point games already. The dual sport athlete is lightning quick with the ball in his hands, which he uses to blow by his defender in the half court. Tucker is more than just a slasher as he has a good shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. He is an underrated rebounder and plays with quick hands on defense. Tucker is a big-time scorer who should continue to light up the scoreboard as the season goes on.
Jordan Poole Jordan Poole 5'11" | PG Burlington Township | 2023 State NJ , 5’9 PG Burlington Township 2023
The Falcons are an intriguing team to watch in the BCSL with Poole running the show. The 5’9 guard has a good handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Poole has a nice touch on his floater and can knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He rarely makes poor decisions with the ball in his hands and has good chemistry with backcourt mates Maurice Crump and Anthony Johnson Anthony Johnson 6'1" | SG Burlington Township | 2022 State NJ . Poole’s ability to break defenses down and make plays is something that will help him grow as the season progresses.
Adam Harris Adam Harris 6'0" | PG New Egypt | 2022 State NJ , 6’0 PG New Egypt 2022
Harris and junior Devin Kimmick are one of the top guard duos in the conference, which makes them a tough team to beat on a nightly basis. The 6’0 senior is at his best with the ball in his hands as he can get by his man with ease and is a good finisher around the basket. Harris can also score in the mid-range and can make opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He is an underrated passer and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Harris and Kimmick will be a fun pair of guards to watch as New Egypt looks to make a deep postseason run.
Cameron Downs Cameron Downs 6'4" | SF Pemberton | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SF Pemberton 2022
Downs has a huge matchup with Moorestown as the Hornets are looking to stop a two-game skid. The 6’4 forward has a nice touch around the basket and is unafraid of drawing contact. Downs has a good release on his free throws and is working on becoming a more consistent perimeter shooter. He is a strong rebounder and makes plays on the defensive end. Downs is a physical forward prospect who should have a big game against the Quakers to cap off the week.
