Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top Class of 2022 guards from the Webster Classic, which was held at Webster Groves High.

[player_tooltip player_id="984950" first="Matt" last="Enright"] 6’0 Webster Groves: Matty Ice had a big weekend in leading the Statesmen to the tournament championship. He averaged 20 points during the tournament including 22 points against Miller Career Academy in the semifinals and 21 points in the upset victory over Staley in the championship game. The lefty was feeling it from long distance in the finals with five triples, including a couple from close to 30 feet.

Cavoll Love Jr 6’3 Riverview Gardens: An athletic wing player who showcased an impressive array of offensive tools during the weekend. In the game I watched, he scored 32 points in the consolation semifinals against Lee's Summit North. He scored on several athletic slashing drives to the basket in the first half, then moved out to the perimeter in the second half, where he sank four 3-pointers.

Trasean White 6’1 Confluence: The talented point guard has been on a scoring binge to open the season and that continued during the tournament. Despite missing a game with an ankle injury, he led the Titans to a third-place finish. He scored 26 points in an overtime victory over Career Academy in the third-place game. He's tremendous on dribble penetration, where it's hard for anyone to stay in front of him. He has improved his 3-point shooting, which has made him a more potent offensive weapon.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050177" first="Ethan" last="Chartrand"] 6’2 Webster Groves: The athletic shooting guard averaged 12 points a game during the weekend in helping the Statesmen to the championship. He is a dynamic athlete who is at his best when he his on the attack and slashing to the basket. He is a strong finisher in the lane and will go up and dunk on a defender if he isn't paying attention. He is also as smooth as he is aggressive when he puts the ball on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="991581" first="Jamod" last="Robinson"] 5’10 Confluence: A small point guard who plays with a lot of quickness and toughness. He used his speed to get into the lane and his toughness to score in traffic despite taking the hits from bigger defenders. He would just get up and keep coming. He was also a ball hawk on defense with his on-ball pressure.

Mike Livingston 6’2 Lee’s Summit North: An athletic guard who was very effective when he was slashing towards the basket. When he was able to get downhill with a head of steam, you could put two points in the scorebook. It's automatic. He's an explosive player who could throw down a dunk or get a chase down block in transition.

Asa Bridges 5’10 Staley: A solid guard who does his job handling the ball and keeping things moving on the offensive end. He also has a smooth shooting stroke when he's left open. He had a breakout game in the semifinals against Confluence when he scored 17 points, which included five 3-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1230453" first="Anand" last="Dharmarajan"] 6’2 John Burroughs: This shooting guard has continued to develop over the course of his career into an very good player who can really shoot the basketball. He has excellent range and he has gotten bigger and stronger, which enables him to handle the ball and get to the basket with a more confidence.
