CNHY Showcase: 2023 Top Performers – Part 2

<p>It’s time to finish up and put a bow on the CNHY Showcase from Cardinal Newman. The 2-day event featured 15 teams from the Carolinas. Let’s wrap up the 2023 Palmetto State Top Performers here in Part 2. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="865341" first="Trai" last="White"] - Gray Collegiate (pictured on front)</strong></p> <p>White can really push the ball up the floor and dictate the tempo of the game. Trai has a nice mid-range pull-up when he's not attacking the cup. White has quick hands to manufacture steals and chaos in the open floor. White is the leader of this War Eagles team and Head Coach Dion Bethea. Jefferson a left-handed combo guard has a sleek frame. Jefferson feels most comfortable doing his damage out on the perimeter knocking down shots. Jordan came over to the Cardinals this past off season from nearby Ridge View HS. Frazer can play bot spots in the backcourt. Jordan made some timely shots and passes today in the win over the Greenies. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1295774" first="Xavier" last="Brown"] - Wilson HS (Florence) </strong></p> <p>Brown a left-handed guard really came to play for the Tigers. Xavier came off the bench and led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points. Brown connected on several three pointers and picked up steals along the way. Hudson playing more off the ball than I've seen in the past scored 22 points in the win over Hammond. Deuce has the ability to score the ball from all 3-levels on the floor and showed just that today. He was able to finish on contact to the basket a few times today. Hudson just led his Knights football team to the Lower State Championship Game recently before losing to Beaufort HS. Hudson plays Quarterback during the football season after transferring in from nearby Darlington HS. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/12/B88C1D03-CCD8-47C1-BBDC-74C9F81B6AF4.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1340409" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/12/B88C1D03-CCD8-47C1-BBDC-74C9F81B6AF4-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1340380" first="Amari" last="Evans"] - Hammond </strong></p> <p>Evans a left-handed guard did as much as possible today for his Skyhawks but, came up a bit short. Evans was able to slash to the basket when he wasn't hitting a 3-ball from downtown. Nicknamed "Spanky" the long and rangy guard scored most of his points in the paint today. Dominick is versatile to play multiple positions while rebounding well from out of his area. Jones still must improve his perimeter down the road. Jones will never hesitate on the floor for sacrificing his body and taking a charge.</p>
