1st place game:

Gilbert 51

Perry 45

Here were some of the juniors that stood out:

[player_tooltip player_id="831114" first="Cody" last="Williams"] Perry

A long strider can hit the 3 and get to the basket He can straight line drive and flush it down above the rim. He can euro step to finish around traffic and get downhill with his right hand. Defensively he can guard the 1-4 for the Pumas using his long wingspan and quick reflexes.

[player_tooltip player_id="814525" first="KJ" last="Perry"] Gilbert

An improving guard is very aggressive to the basket. His shot is improving and he can pull up off the dribble from mid to the 3pt line. He can hit the catch-3 and euro step his way in traffic scoring through contact. He is another who will defend multiple positions from the 1-3.

[player_tooltip player_id="1150195" first="Brigg" last="Wolfe"] Mesa Mountain View

A bigger pure PG who has advanced court vision. He sees plays developing and finds his teammates quickly. He uses his thicker frame to get downhill and score in traffic. He can pull-up off the dribble from mid-range and can bully his way inside plus post up bigger players down low to score it. He is a capable 3pt shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="814526" first="Ashton" last="Reese"] Pinnacle

Highly skilled wing shooter. He has an easy stroke to the 3pt line and can pull-up off the dribble from mid-range. He gives strong ball fakes and will rise up and shoot it.

[player_tooltip player_id="814516" first="Bryce" last="Ford"] Pinnacle (Pictured)

A lefty combo guard is a shooter from the stripe. He has a quicker release and once he gets hot the basket looks very big for him. He has a nice hesi and will get passed his defender and then he can pull-up off the dribble. His catch-3 can be a weapon on the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="945148" first="Oliver" last="Hinder"] Corona del Sol

A long and lean center moves fluidly around the court. He tracks the ball well to block shots and rebounds well in his area. He has a nice baby hook shot and catches tough passes in traffic to score it around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="814521" first="Aadem" last="Isai"] Valley Vista

A crafty passer and scorer. He can hesitate and go passed his defenders. He is best as a catch 3pt shooter and he hit some big shots in the 4th qtr. His left is just as good as his right hand handling the ball and is a plus rebounder for a guard.

[player_tooltip player_id="814513" first="Ben" last="Egbo"] Perry

A long and athletic 3 and D type of wing forward. He can hit the 3pt shot off the catch and he will defend multiple positions. He is an out of area rebounder and runs the break as good as anyone.

[player_tooltip player_id="1160999" first="Devin" last="Miller"] Desert Ridge

A strong on-ball guard defender. He is tough getting downhill and the lefty can shoot it to the 3pt line but prefers to touch the paint. He iced the game with some FT’s down the stretch versus Chandler.

[player_tooltip player_id="814533" first="Clayton" last="Werner"] Valley Vista

A combo guard is a surprisingly very good passer. He drives and kicks it to his teammates and is an unselfish player. He hustles for loose balls and does many 50/05 things during a game to help the outcome in their favor.

[player_tooltip player_id="1120856" first="Justin" last="Hodgins"] Chandler

A quick scoring guard can shoot it from the 3pt line off the catch. He has adequate speed to get into the lane and uses the pro hop or floater to finish around the post defenders.

Deven Blair SF 6’3 Desert Ridge

A good passer who is long and lean. He gets into the lane quickly with his long strides to the lane. He can hit the 3pt shot but likes slashing a little more.
