This week was full of great games that had lots of great players in them. I saw some exciting prospects and look forward to giving you my evaluations each and every Sunday throughout the season. It is time to recap this week and look at what our exciting prospects did.

Warren Central: vs Arsenal Tech 11/22

[player_tooltip player_id="769654" first="D’Ante" last="Davis"] – 6’7 2022 SF (Louisville Commit): The 6’7 skilled wing had himself a game in this one. Scored a game high 25 points with most of his scoring coming inside the 15ft mark. He is such a smooth player with the ball in his hands and does a fine job when he goes iso mode, which he did a lot of here. Can get pretty explosive at times off the dribble and one of those explosive plays resulted in a big slam. Louisville has got a stud coming in for them next year.

[player_tooltip player_id="787634" first="Chandler" last="Jackson"] – 6’5 2022 SF: Jackson was the other Warren Central player that went off here. Was a little quiet to start off with but started getting it going in the 2Q and finished the game with 20 points. Played very well off the ball and displayed a very smooth yet quick 3 point shot that he utilized a few times throughout. He has just got all the physical tools in him and can make plays on both ends of the floor. If Jackson is on, Warren Central always has a chance to win a game. Great showing for the tough wing.

[player_tooltip player_id="1297060" first="Jevon" last="Guess"] – 6’4 2025 PF: The stat sheet may not jump out to you but Guess provided some very solid minutes for Warren Central. He is a raw freshman that was playing his first high school game but was very physical crashing the glass on the defensive end. Offense was not completely there yet but as he gets more comfortable he is going to be a major factor in the frontcourt for Warren in the long term. Guess is one of the top freshman we have in the state.

Arsenal Tech: vs Warren Central 11/22

[player_tooltip player_id="1006434" first="Reggie" last="Bass"] – 6’5 2022 SG: The quick SG was all over the floor here making play after play in his Arsenal Tech debut (transferred from Elevation Prep). Blew past his defender multiple times with one of those resulting in a slam. The main thing that stood out for me was how excellent his court vison was. He, along with Lisenbee Jr., made the play of the game with an off the backboard oop slam that was so thunderous. Displayed quick hands on the defensive end as well. There was a scary leg injury that took place in the final minute of the game so hopefully that is not serious as that would be a huge loss for Tech. He finished with 14 points and 7 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id="769679" first="Matt" last="Spears"] – 6’7 2022 PF: Spears is a long and lanky forward that had a solid showing for the most part here. Had a nice looking right handed hook shot early as well as a smooth looking turnaround jumper. Outside jumper was not all there this game and one other critique I had was that I wanted him to be just a little more aggressive at times. Overall, Spears is an important part of this Tech team that can go off at any moment if not careful.

[player_tooltip player_id="870218" first="Dayveon" last="Turner"] – 6’0 2022 PG: Turner is a shorter lead guard that was on fire this game. Shot the lights out from behind the arc and was not afraid to mix it up in the paint with the bigs. Has a calm and composed playing style with excellent handles as well. Was great on the boards also. Just an overall excellent playmaker that is creative with the ball. He finished with 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="643490" first="Rasheed" last="Jones"] – 6’6 2022 SF: The transfer from Elevation Prep made his Arsenal Tech debut in a big way dropping 17 points and was their leading scorer. Started off the game very hot going 3 for 3 from behind the arch all in the 1Q. Very active player at all times and especially showed that on the defensive end as he made it hard for Davis to score at times. Also uses his athleticism protecting the rim with shot blocking ability. Jones could very well be the leading scorer for Arsenal Tech throughout the entire year. Finished with 5 rebounds and 4 assists as well.

Antonio Lisenbee Jr. – 6’7 2022 PF: Another transfer into Arsenal Tech, this one from NTSI Prep in Florida, Lisenbee Jr. also made his debut for the Titans nearly dropping a double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Was the finishing part of the big off the glass slam and honestly has already made a case for the play of the year this early into the season. He is skilled around the rim on both ends and is a high level rim protector as well. Just a versatile player that pairs it well with elite athleticism and strength.

Mitchell: vs Springs Valley 11/23

[player_tooltip player_id="1267685" first="Nick" last="Mundy"] – 6’1 2022 PG: Mundy is an aggressive, athletic lead guard that showed off his improvements he made over the summer here. Got in foul trouble in the 1H but was able to get it going with two really nice, skilled drives early in the 3Q with one of those being a spin move that avoided a charge attempt. Defense was great as expected but the best thing he did was get to the foul line and convert like Mitchell needed him to do secure the win. This guy just never takes plays off. Finished with 12 points.

Andrew Shepherd – 6’0 2022 PG: Shepherd is a shorter lead guard that quite possibly had the best game he has ever had wearing a Mitchell uniform. Was physical and tough on the offensive end with driving to the rim with a hard first step and finishing. Also has a nasty pullup 15fter that converted very often here. Defense still needs some work but Shepherd has all the physical tools to be a consistent piece for the Bluejackets all season long. Great showing from him as he finished with 18 points.

Kade Wigley – 5’10 2023 SG: Wigley is a quick, tough SG that was on fire here. Shot the ball incredibly well from behind the arc and was not afraid to pull it if given just the littlest amount of space. Defense was solid and even had nice block that showed off his athletic ability. Looks to have grown a little taller since last year which seems to have helped him take his game to the next level. He was the leading scorer for Mitchell with 20 points.

Springs Valley: vs Mitchell 11/23

Kannon Chase – 6’1 2022 PG: Chase a lefty with elite athleticism and very high vertical. Without question, Chase is by far Springs Valley’s best player. Was making big plays all over and Mitchell was having a tough time stopping him around the basket. Plays excellent defense and uses that high vertical to block shots. Chase was the highest scorer this game with 26 points.

Carter Crews - 6’0 2022 SG: Crews is a smaller shooting guard that was aggressive here. Although he looks to pull it from behind the arc, he mixed in some tough drives and got a little physical in the paint. Rebounded fairly well and added strength would really help him take his game to that next level. Crews will be that shooter that Springs Valley will rely on this year.

Forrest Park: vs Crawford County 11/24

Drew Howard – 5’11 2022 PG: (University of Evansville Baseball Commit) Howard might be the toughest player that you have never heard of. He is a shorter lead guard but he was literally making plays all over the court here. Was nearly perfect on the defensive end with 5 steals and almost all of them resulted in a fast break score. Finishes through contact very well and cuts hard off the ball even though he is their primary ball handler most times. Also has a capable jumper 15ft and out. Athletic, skilled, aggressive, high IQ, and if he was just a little taller, he would have the whole package. Finished with 30 points.
