Cincinnati Taft: Taft comes into this season as the clear-cut favorite in Division III. With Rayvon Griffith Rayvon Griffith 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #78 Nation AZ , they have a star to lean on. Mekhi Elmore Mekhi Elmore 6'1" | PG Thurgood Marshallchooligh | 2022 State OH will come into this season determined after being ineligible for last season’s final four run due to OHSAA transfer rules. With Eian Elmer Eian Elmer 6'6" | SF Taft | 2023 State OH transferring from Kentucky, Taft is loaded.
Lutheran East: Reload instead of rebuild is the motto for The Lue. After graduating a ton of senior talent, they brought it studs like Cody Head Cody Head 6'1" | CG Lutheran East | 2023 State OH and Nelson Johnson Nelson Johnson 6'6" | PF Lutheran East | 2023 State OH and return Jordan Cannon Jordan Cannon 6'0" | SF Lutheran East | 2022 State OH and Jesse McCulloch Jesse McCulloch 6'9" | PF Lutheran East | 2024 State #136 Nation OH . Lutheran East shouldn’t take much of a step down this season.
Columbus Africentric: Dailyn Swain Dailyn Swain 6'7" | SF Africentric | 2023 State #81 Nation OH is one of the most talented players in Division III and after being forced to forfeit last season in the playoffs due to positive COVID cases, Africentric is out for revenge in 2021-22. This team has the athleticism and defensive pressure to give teams fits.
Colonel Crawford: With Carter Valentine Carter Valentine 6'5" | SF Colonel Crawford | 2022 State OH and Mason Studer Mason Studer 5'11" | PG Colonel Crawford | 2022 State OH , Colonel Crawford could be the top Division III team in NW Ohio. After a successful 2020-21 campaign, this seems like their year to make a deep run.
Ottawa-Glandorf: Colin White Colin White 6'5" | SG Ottawa Glandorf | 2024 State #156 Nation OH is back with a new look squad, but I was impressed with the Titans in the summer when I saw them. They’ve earned their strong reputation to hold a top spot in the pre-season.
Other teams to watch: Harvest Prep, Worthington Christian, Preble Shawnee, Lima Central Catholic, North Union, West Lafayette Ridgewood, Proctorville Fairland, New Middletown Springfield, Oberlin
