Day three has seen 1A newcomer Magnolia Charter jump into the frey with a couple of games scheduled. In this Daily Dish edition, we will look at several highlights from the last two days in the Home of the Giants.

Woodlawn’s Dynamic Duo Stars in their Wins

Huntington Leaves the Thanksgiving Classic Undefeated

The Raiders finished the Thanksgiving Classic with a win over the Marshall (Texas) Mavericks.  Devin Myers Devin Myers Devin Myers 5'10" | SG Levenworth | 2022 KS was the leading scorer with 17 and he scored those points in a myriad of ways.  He attacked the rim and got to the foul line, finished during transition, and completed layups from set plays.  Decedric Webb Decedric Webb Decedric Webb 6'5" | SF Huntington | 2023 State LA did not score much but showed off his passing skills today.  His passing from the high post in the half court was stellar.  In fast break situations, he had a 30 foot bounce to a teammate between two defenders and a 3/4 court pass on the bounce to another teammate for a layup.  All of that from the 6’4" post/wing.  Dekaveon Taylor and his shooting from three and closer closed out a good team effort for the Raiders.

Marshall has some pieces

The Marshall Runnin’ Mavs (Mavericks) came into the Thanksgiving Classic 2-1.  While they went 0-3 during the classic, they have some players that will make them very formidable in Texas.  The junior inside duo of Robert Bellard and Gikovian McCoy are athletic forwards who battle on the glass and can score in the paint.  McCoy knows how to avoid defenders and finish at the rim while Bellard can power through contact.  Guards Domar Roberson and Campbell White are heady players who are shotmakers as well.  With this core, they will be a team that gives others trouble in 5A.

The Giants have a Duo also
