Film Breakdown: Mohamad Farahani (2024)

Film has always been a valuable tool for coaches and scouts alike. Especially since the start of the Covid pandemic, film and video has been a must for all involved in the basketball industry. [player_tooltip player_id="1111931" first="Mohamad" last="Farahani"] is a talented sophomore guard in the state of Michigan. I was recently sent some of his recent film, including some from the highly regarded Pangos Midwest Camp. Let’s go over some of what I saw from these videos. THE PLAYER NAME: [player_tooltip player_id="1111931" first="Mohamad" last="Farahani"] POSITION: CG CLASS: 2024 SCHOOL: Farmington High School STRENGTHS - Able to pull up for his jumper on a dime - Effectively uses a jump stop to put himself in better position to score - Showed nice touch on his floater and in his mid range game - Showed 3 point range with his jumper - Able to finish at the rim in traffic - Can use his handles to create space to get a clean look at the rim - He keeps his head up and on a swivel when bringing the ball up the floor - Used his work off the ball to create and to get open AREAS TO IMPROVE - Like to see him finish strong with his left hand - Develop a go to move and counter move - At times, I’d like to see a little more zip on some of his passes SUMMARY [player_tooltip player_id="1111931" first="Mohamad" last="Farahani"] is definitely a high level prospect in the Michigan’s class of 2024. There’s a lot of really exciting aspects to his game that will transfer into future success on the basketball court. Farahani has areas to improve, but these are aspects of his game that could naturally progress as he expands his game. He’s floated a bit under the radar early in his high school career, but I don’t think that will last long. Farahani is a player that will make a lot of noise in due time.
