These are the top 2024 and 2025 guards and wings in attendance that got some hands-on experience with college coaches, college players, and former WNBA players in attendance. Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage from this event!
Chas Biegel Chas Biegel 6'6" | CG Lake Travis | 2024 TX 2024 Wing 6’5 Lake Travis High School (Texas)
Chas is a fluid athlete with a great ability to knock down shots from all around the midrange. He is very comfortable off the catch, especially off the pick and pop. He is a great finisher in the paint and is very strong when he has the ball on the block. He is good at using his frame to bully smaller defenders into getting to his spots. I would like to see him work on his ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim, especially after he begins to knock down shots from the outside and defenses focus on his shot-making ability.
Hunter Duran 2024 Guard 6’3 Lake Travis High School (Texas)
Hunter is an aware combo guard who is great at staying ready to knock down shots from around the arc. His off-ball movement and ability to create space from his defender stood out. He is great at running close to screens and forcing his defender to run into the screen with and without the ball. He is also a good utility player who can be used in the pick and roll. I was impressed with his all-around game at such a young age however I would like to see him work on his ability to put the ball on the floor and attack defenses from the midrange.
Trent Medearis Trent Medearis 6'0" | PG Hays | 2024 State TX 2024 Guard 5’10 Hays High School (Texas)
Trent is a very strong on ball defender who possesses long arms that seem to be wreaking havoc on the defensive end of the floor. Whether he was blocking three pointers or hustling on the floor for loose balls, Medearis seemed to be everywhere on the floor. He is a strong shooter from around the arc when he gets an opportunity to set his feet. He is great at attacking the basket with a live dribble and get into the lane. I would like to see continued development with his shot off the dribble.
Jaylen Mayo Jaylen Mayo 5'10" | CG Lake Dallas | 2025 TX 2025 Guard 5’9 Lake Dallas High School (Texas)
Jaylen is a sniper from seemingly every spot on the floor, he has a pure stroke with deep NBA range confidence. As the game is shifting to a more outside focused game, Mayo is on the front end of the trend when it comes to shooting. I would like to see him more willing to attack the basket and get to his spots in the midrange and just along the three point line rather than settling for 25 footers.
Kash Polk Kash Polk 6'9" | PF Argyle | 2025 State #145 Nation TX 2025 Wing 6’6 Liberty Christian (Texas)
Kash has the potential to become a stud on both ends of the floor. He is an incredibly strong post defender for his age, and wrecked havoc in the paint on both ends of the floor. I loved his pairing of agility, ball handling and size. He was great at getting to his spots in the lane and midrange with a live dribble. I would like to see him work on his ability to shoot off the dribble from beyond the three point line, and work on staying ready to shoot when his teammates attack the basket.
