In today’s version of basketball, bigs are expected to do much more and now routinely step out to the three point line for shots, handle the ball in the open floor, or even help facilitate the offense as a whole. The coveted big is more useful than ever with coaches always searching for great players with height and all-around skills to help improve their rosters. Continue reading for a look at some of the most underrated bigs in the state of Idaho.
Nolan Bower Nolan Bower 6'8" | C Fruitland | 2022 State ID , Fruitland: Bower has had a great career at Fruitland so far, yet still seems to always end up just off of any scouting radars. Bower has a great feeling for the game overall and does an excellent job of using his size and strength to his advantage. Nolan is a bully in the paint who can play with his back to the basket and score with either hand, or step out and hit the coveted mid-range jumper as well. Watch for Nolan to have another productive season for Fruitland.
Malachi Bullington Malachi Bullington 7'0" | C North Idaho Christian | 2022 State ID , North Idaho Christian: Malachi is a hidden 7-footer that plays for a relatively small school, and therefore, always seems to lack the proper attention. Bullington has developed really solid skills in all areas of his game and remains a dominant force on both ends of the floor. Bullington is an excellent rim protector who blocks or deters a lot of shots and can run the floor on the other end. He has soft touch around the rim and excellent awareness of where his body is in space.
Kenny McOmber Kenny McOmber 6'4" | SF Bonneville | 2023 State ID , Bonneville: McOmber has done a great job at Bonneville so far in his career and will look to help out his teammates once again during the upcoming season of play. Kenny is a great passer and scorer who can also rebound the ball really well whenever he puts in the effort. McOmber has been working hard during the offseason to make sure that he will have a lot of skills and abilities on both ends of the floor. Watch for a great season of competition from Kenny McOmber Kenny McOmber 6'4" | SF Bonneville | 2023 State ID this year.
