Region 7 has a new look with a lot of the teams in 4A joining them such as Tooele, Uintah and Stansbury. These new teams also create a major traveling issue for a lot of these teams, especially when you’re traveling from Stansbury to Uintah. Hillcrest has a new look with some solid players and a school like Cedar Valley is in the middle of an area that has been experiencing so much growth. They will be a team that takes a pit stop in 5A. Payson has had a great basketball tradition so, we expect them to compete. Region 7 will be wide open but here are some players to watch.

6’2 Dallin Rupper || Cedar Valley High School || 2022 ||

Dallin is a solid 10 & 5 type of player that will be returning to the Aviators as they look to make a splash in this new region. They will be able to compete right off the bat.

6’5 [player_tooltip player_id="969249" first="Aidan" last="Oliphant"] || Cottonwood High School || 2023 ||

Aidan was a big part of the success that Cottonwood had last season. Aidan has a high motor that allows him to rebound the ball well and finish around the rim. He would be an ideal prospect in the NWAC as a 3 that can play the 4.

6’5 [player_tooltip player_id="934508" first="Noah" last="Widerburg"] || Cottonwood High School || 2022 ||

Noah is underrated when it comes to guards around the state. He is a great scorer that can score from the perimeter as well as get to the rim. He hit 70 three-pointers last season and expect some more of that this season. He could be a major under looked talent in the state.

6’5 [player_tooltip player_id="934035" first="Micah" last="Madry"] || Hillcrest High School || 2023 ||

Dual sport athlete that has a great feel for the game. Micah is starting to grow into his body and he is starting to fill-out that frame as well. Athleticism is starting to pop at the right time and the smooth lefty is one of those players that is a must watch.

6’2 Zachary Robbins || Payson High School || 2022 ||

Zachary will be the next man up and he has the game to fill in nicely for some of the players that have moved on from graduation. He is well coached and he plays on both ends of the floor. Shoots the ball well from deep but he also lets the game come to him as he keeps his vision up leading to many assist.

6’0 [player_tooltip player_id="967702" first="Landon" last="Giles"] || Stansbury High School || 2022 ||

Landon is a great returner for Stansbury as they will need a scoring punch. Landon should be able to provide that as a threat from outside. Expect Landon to be +65 three’s this year.

6’6 [player_tooltip player_id="967706" first="Julian" last="Mahoe"] || Tooele High School || 2022 ||

Julian has been solid for the past few years and this is going to be the year that he makes a leap into a major threat at both ends of the floor. Julian has athleticism and great feel for the game. Would be another ideal candidate/prospect at the next level for a school in the NWAC. Juilian is a must watch player over at Tooele.

6’2 [player_tooltip player_id="934505" first="Josh" last="Speirs"] || Uintah High School || 2022 ||

Josh did burst on to the scene as a freshman that could really shoot the ball. He has transformed his game to player that can score the ball. Josh is on pace to reach the 1,000 point mark and he will be a player to watch. Nice looking prospect with a respectable game that could likely land on a roster if he decides to play at the next level.
