The CBG Fall Series was off this weekend in Richmond, so we decided to look back at some of the sessions before and make all session teams. With the amount of talent in the event over the past few weekends, it can be considered one of the top fall events in the state, and the prospects in the All Series Teams will back that up.

Here’s a look at seven players we thought deserved the recognition of first team in session two of the event on 10/10.

If you’re interested in watching games from session one, the playback in available here.

MVP: [player_tooltip player_id="736190" first="Jaden" last="Daughtry"] | 6’5” WF | Benedictine 2022

Daughtry stole the show with one of the best individual performances in the CBG since it started, as he went for 28 points in a win over John Marshall, scoring 17 straight in the second half and doing it from all over the court. The available forward who transferred back from Arizona made a huge statement in their win, showing his ability to take over games and playing with a great motor on both ends of the floor. He’s a strong and athletic forward who can play inside-out, impact the game in a number of ways and should be one of the most highly recruited available players in VA.

[player_tooltip player_id="815594" first="DeJuan" last="Campbell"] | 6’1” PG | Kecoughtan 2022

Campbell was second team in session one, and his play earned him first team this weekend as he led Kecoughtan to a big win over LC Bird and running the show the way few players in the state can. He made great decisions with the ball in his hands, he handled pressure well and he picked his spots and got to the spots he’s best at in the midrange and scored it efficiently and in a number of different ways. He averaged 15.5 points per game and was an excellent playmaker as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="815588" first="Alphonzo" last="Billups"] | 6’7” WF | Varina 2022

The VCU commit earns first team honors again after being first team in session one as well, and he was fantastic as he was aggressive on the offensive end and led the team in scoring and likely in rebounds as well. His length and versatility on the wing allows him to impact the game in a number of ways as he’s improved in his ability to score it from multiple levels, he can make plays for others and he makes an impact on the defensive end as well. He averaged 17 points per game and had numerous highlight plays and hit clutch shots throughout the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="999619" first="Yuri" last="Manns"] | 6’3” CG | LC Bird 2023

Manns is looking like the breakout junior in the Fall Series so far, as the combo guard has improved in a number of ways including his strength, athleticism and confidence in being a go-to guy for his Bird squad. He wanted the ball down the stretch in close games and showed he can score it from deep off the catch or off the bounce, he has an excellent midrange game with one of the best floaters in the area and his improved strength and athleticism allows him to play above the rim and through contact in the paint. He finished the event averaging 17.5 points per game, and had 23 in a close loss to Kecoughtan.

[player_tooltip player_id="815586" first="Greg" last="Melvin"] | 6’7” PF | CBG Elite 2 2022

Melvin is another of the top available prospects in the Virginia class of 2022, and he had an outstanding game in a close loss to John Marshall where he went for 16 points and showed good versatility on both ends. He’s a big time athlete with good size that can play inside-out, he’s able to handle the rock and get to spots where he can make plays and finish at the rim and he shot the basketball well from deep which is a big addition to his game. He has tons of upside moving forward and the way he rebounds and defends is another plus too.

[player_tooltip player_id="992528" first="Dennis" last="Parker"] Jr. | 6’6” WF | John Marshall 2023

Parker is one of the few familiar faces on a talented JM team that should compete for a state championship, and he showed he’s ready to take on the leadership and go-to role after being injured last season. He’s such a unique player at his size with his mix of length, explosiveness and ability to impact the game in so many different ways on both sides of the floor. He can handle and initiate the offense and make plays for others, he can score it from multiple levels and the thing that really impresses is the motor he plays with as the star whether it’s making a hustle play or crashing to keep a play alive on the glass. He finished averaging 13.5 points per game and impacted his team in many more ways than just the scorers sheet.

[player_tooltip player_id="1107835" first="Cam" last="Gregory"] | 6’3” CG | Steward School 2022

Gregory was the point of attack for a Steward team that went 2-0 in session two beating two very good teams in Varina and Menchville, and he was fantastic as both a playmaker and a scorer on the offensive end. Throughout the day he did a good job initiating the offense and getting others involved, but when his team needed a bucket after a cold stretch or late in the game in close games he was able to create for himself and score it in multiple ways. He averaged an efficient 12 points per game and set the tone on both ends of the floor for his team throughout the day.
