2023 Top Available UCC Prospects

<p>It was a huge weekend for the UCC as <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850752" first="Simeon" last="Wilcher"]</strong> committed to UNC. He is a big-time talent, but he is not the only 2023 prospect in the conference who will make an impact at the next level. Here are the top available prospects from the UCC in the 2023 class.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850753" first="Akil" last="Watson"], 6’7 SF Roselle Catholic</strong></p> <p>Watson is one of the top-rated wings in the country and should put it on display this season. The Don Bosco transfer has a nice handle which he uses to get by his defender on the perimeter. Watson has a nice release on his jumper and uses his length to shoot over smaller defenders. He has a nice mid-range game and has the potential to defend multiple positions on the floor. Watson is a talented wing prospect who will be one to watch for the Lions this season.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1013071" first="Christian" last="Pierre-Louis"], 6’2 SG Roselle Catholic</strong></p> <p>Pierre-Louis is the X-Factor for Roselle Catholic as his play is key to the team’s success. The 6’2 guard is tough on the defensive end as he makes it very hard for opponents to get into their offense. Pierre-Louis is one of the top rebounding guards in the state as he attacks the glass with reckless abandon. He is tough to keep out of the lane and can finish through contact. Pierre-Louis plays with a relentless motor on both ends of the floor, which is something that will help him in a big way as the season progresses.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1013067" first="Sebastian" last="Robinson"], 6’2 CG Elizabeth</strong></p> <p>Robinson is expected to be a key part of the Minutemen offense this season as they look to contend for a sectional title. The 6’2 guard is at his best attacking the basket as he can finish around the rim and does not mind drawing contact. Robinson is more than just a slasher as he can knock down open jumpers from distance and plays with poise on the ball. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and moves his feet on the defensive end. Robinson’s ability to run the offense is something that will be key for him and Elizabeth as the season progresses.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1013069" first="Malachi" last="Johnson"], 6’0 PG Union</strong></p> <p>Johnson is primed for a big junior campaign as he gets an opportunity to be the focal point of the offense. The 6’0 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get past his defender to get to the rim. Johnson has a nice touch on his floater and can make opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He has a nice shooting stroke and is an underrated passer. Johnson is a scoring, lead guard prospect who will help the Farmers in a big way in 2021-22.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="902742" first="Delroy" last="Smith"], 6’7 PF Elizabeth</strong></p> <p>Smith is set for a breakout junior campaign as he is set to get more touches inside. The 6’7 forward fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is tough to keep off the glass. Smith is a solid post defender and uses his length to alter shots around the basket. He has a nice touch around the basket and is working on his offensive range.
