WCAC Preview: 2022 Sleepers

<p>In preparation for the upcoming season, we will begin releasing preview content covering various teams and leagues around the DMV. For this series, here is a closer look at five underrated seniors from the WCAC.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="848406" first="Logan" last="Blair"] | St. John’s (DC)</h5> <p>Blair is a strong 6-foot-4 wing who brings experience to the Cadets squad. He can make an impact defensively where he is very good at making things difficult for the opposing team's better perimeter players. Blair will also get easy buckets by getting paint touches and aggressively crashing the offensive glass.</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1107834" first="Marquis" last="Dunklin"] | Bishop Ireton (VA)</h5> <p>Dunklin has been one of the more consistent contributors for the Cardinals since the pandemic. He is a skilled lead guard who sets the tone with his defense but is a threat to score or make plays offensively. </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1215167" first="Josiah" last="Franklin"] | St. Mary’s Ryken (MD)</h5> <p>Franklin was one of the better finds of the summer and has stayed true to form since he put his name on the map. He is a dynamic combo guard who can consistently manufacture offense from isos or pick-and-roll actions. Franklin's emergence is certainly a plus for Ryken heading into this season. </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="1159449" first="Eddie" last="Paquette"] | Gonzaga (DC)</h5> <p>Paquette is heading into the season with some positive momentum after initially jumping off the page, then missing an extended period of time due to injury. He brings versatility to the Eagles because of his combination of size, playmaking, and scoring ability. </p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="904647" first="Tre" last="Powell"] | DeMatha (MD)</h5> <p>Powell has been on our radar since his freshman year at Richard Montgomery where he was a standout on the JV team as a freshman. He is a gifted athlete who can score at will from all three levels. Powell has matured nicely since and is an interesting sleeper on the Stags talented roster. </p> <p>https://twitter.com/Coach___Tre/status/1391431695602159622?s=20</p> <h5>[player_tooltip player_id="954641" first="Rihards" last="Vavers"] | Archbishop Carroll (DC)</h5> <p>Vavers is a 6-foot-6 wing who will be considered one of the more dangerous shooters in the conference. The Latvian prospect is not just a knockdown shooter. Vavers brings a high IQ to the game. He is a smart mover off the ball who keeps the ball zipping around the court. </p>
