ESPN National Analyst and former division one coach Paul Biancardi came to Richmond to host a college style practice at Randolph-Macon featuring 85 boys and girls in high school. The camp featured a number of former collegiate and current high school coaches that put the campers through a set of developmental drills, a 3-on-3 tournament and let them get up and down at the end before Biancardi and a number of other coaches gave advice on preparing for college.

Here’s a look at part one of some of the many standouts at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="962795" first="George" last="Cutler IV"] | 6’0” PG | Cape Henry ’22

Cutler is set to have a big senior season for the reigning VISAA D1 state champions, as he looks as confident and sharp as I’ve seen him and he was one of the more talented point guards in attendance. Cutler is a strong and shifty lead guard who thrived in the ball screen section of the camp, was a big reason his team won the 3-on-3 portion and showed improvement in his shot making ability from deep and from the midrange off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id="1032848" first="Jaxon" last="Ellingsworth"] | 6’7” PF | West Carteret ’22

It was my first time seeing Ellingsworth who is one of NC’s top big men prospects and is still very young for the senior class and would be an excellent option for a post grad season as he has a great skill set for a player his size. At 6’7” he’s mobile and has active legs, he showed great footwork and touch in the shooting portion of the camp and he is able to make shots from multiple levels consistently making him a tough matchup at his size.

James Bell III | 6’7” PF | Collegiate School ’22

Bell continues his good play through the summer and into his senior season where he’ll be a big part of Collegiate’s talented group who should compete in the Prep League this season. Bell’s a great glue guy who brings it on both ends and really got after it in the drill portion of the event, he has good touch out to the three-point line and he’s active and athletic and makes plays across the board for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id="992528" first="Dennis" last="Parker"] Jr. | 6’6” WF | John Marshall ’23

The highest ranked player in the camp showed exactly why he is a consensus top 100 player in the country as he showed his versatility in the different drills throughout the practice and was a big time standout in the 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 runs. Parker’s a natural athlete who can play on or off the basketball, he can score it and make plays for others and what was really impressive is the hustle and tenacity he played with as a high level prospect even in a camp and practice setting.

[player_tooltip player_id="815606" first="Ty" last="Mason"] | 6’7” PF | John Marshall ’23

Mason is heading to JM from Bishop Walsh where he was last year and will make an immediate impact for the Justices with his size and ability to score the ball in a variety of ways. The 6’7” big is young and still growing and throughout the drills portions he excelled as a shooter for his size, he was active in the open runs on the glass and in the paint and he shows a lot of upside moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="1115508" first="Jarin" last="Stevenson"] | 6’8” PF | Sea Forth ’24

Speaking of upside, there may not be a single player at the event that has more than Stevenson who at 6’8” showed that he has great touch, mobility and a very good skill set moving forward. He was excellent in the shooting and ball handling drills for his size, he was one of the best players in the 3-on-3 section of the camp and he will be a very high level prospect as he continues to fill out and develop his game moving forward.
