While this class was thought to be top heavy in recent months, the talent in this class is beginning to surface. There are definitely some studs in this class and some that have the potential to be very good players who bloom late. In this overview, we will hit a little bit of it all as we review the rankings from the 2023 class.</p> <p><strong>The Top Ten</strong></p> <p><a src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/Jakobe-Dykes-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a></p> <p>The members of the ten in this class might not have changed much (only one new member) but the configuration did.  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="970120" first="Chris" last="Lockett"]</strong>, the nations 28th ranked player, heads the class.  He is followed by <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1055172" first="Corey" last="Chest"] </strong>used the Prep Hoops and EYBL live period to have a coming out party.  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="970133" first="Tyler" last="Ringgold"]</strong> of Southern Lab comes in at #3 following his stellar play at the Northwestern State elite camp.  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1055170" first="John" last="Kelly"] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="970111" first="Jamaria" last="Clark"]</strong> around out the top five for this class.  </p> <p>Slots six through ten saw <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="970108" first="Corey" last="Skillman"] </strong>moving past <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1055169" first="Kam" last="Johnson"]</strong> into tenth.  His play at the Mal Mundy Statement Session helped facilitate that move.  <strong>Brandon</strong> <strong>Rodgers</strong> remained at number six while the top point guard in the class, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1130920" first="Canin" last="Jefferson"]</strong>, moved into the seventh position.  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1213569" first="Jakobe" last="Dykes"]</strong> of Springfield and Rankings Newcomers

The new additions to the rankings are headlined by the sharpshooting wing from Port Allen Elliot McQuillan and the uber-athletic wing/post Decedric Webb Decedric Webb Decedric Webb 6'5" | SF Huntington | 2023 State LA from Huntington.  Both players have ridiculous skill sets which allow them to guard multiple players on defense and score in various ways on the offensive end.  A total of twenty-four preps were new additions to the class of 2023 rankings list.  A few of the top newcomers are listed below.
