Forwards Added to the 2022 Rankings

<p>Big men [player_tooltip player_id="1268815" first="Brody" last="Casson"] of Olathe South and [player_tooltip player_id="1268816" first="Brett" last="Gibbs"] from Clearwater were among the top five players added to the 2022 rankings. Check out the other five forwards who joined the list in this most recent update:</p> <p>99 [player_tooltip player_id="1268818" first="Kam" last="Koester"], 6-foot-2 small forward, Chanute HS:</p> <p>Koester garnered second-team South East Kansas League and 4A honorable mention as a junior. A top baseball player and multi-sport athlete, Koester has along, lean frame and competes with tenacity. He was a reliable scorer and leader for a good Chanute club last year.</p> <p>100 [player_tooltip player_id="1268819" first="Nathan" last="Nemechek"], 6-foot-1 small forward, Andale HS:</p> <p>Nemechek seems to have his hands on the ball all the time. He produced a lot of steals at the defensive end, and once he does, he’s pushes the ball up the floor and attacks the goal in transition. He scores a lot of points on follows and breaks, and rips down a lot of boards for a guy his size. Nemechek was named honorable mention 4A as a junior.</p> <p>114 [player_tooltip player_id="1268825" first="Haven" last="Lysell"], 6-foot-4 power forward, Smoky Valley HS:</p> <p>A solidly-built power forward, Lysell averaged 11.4 points and was a force on the glass with 6.3 boards a game. Lysell earned honorable mention 3A as a junior. He does his best work in the post and pounding the glass, with highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds last year.</p> <p>116 [player_tooltip player_id="1268827" first="Eric" last="Dillinger"], 6-foot-5 power forward, Erie HS:</p> <p>Dillinger is a long and angular presence for the Red Devils, who were on a roll at 21-1 before they were upset by Lyndon at sub-state. Dillinger had solid stats – 15.8 points and 6.8 rebounds – but he occasionally exploded for huge games. He threw in 33 points against Caney Valley and 27 against Humboldt. Dillinger earned honorable mention in 2A last year.</p> <p>137 [player_tooltip player_id="1268828" first="Samuel" last="Gros"], 6-foot-4 small forward, Frankfort HS:</p> <p>Gros was good for Frankfort as a junior, but it was for his work with SSA Hoops Elite that he earned a spot in the 2022 rankings. He demonstrated a smoothness and athleticism against top competition, making plays with his length in the lane and on the perimeter with his coordination. Gros is disruptive on the interior of the defense. He moves really well, cutting through the lane and showing great hands on passes. Watch for Gros to really expand his role this year for 1A Div. 1 Frankfort.</p>
