While we’ve been updating our rankings and breaking down content on those, we decided to take a look at some of the best specialists in different areas of the state. Today, we take a look at some of the most versatile bigs in the state. He can handle the basketball in transition and on the perimeter in isolation situations, he’s improved a lot on his shooting from deep and has become very consistent and he can guard almost every position on the floor. He can step out and shoots it well from deep, he can work out of the triple threat or off the bounce and he’s an athletic rebounder and finisher in the paint as well. [player_tooltip player_id="1107845" first="Dallas" last="Kendall"] | 6’7” | Menchville ’22 Kendall is a guy who will likely take a prep school year, and he has big potential as he continues to develop and grow into his body. He’s very fluid and a good athlete, he has ball skills including the ability to face up and put it on the deck or step out and score it from deep and he can stay in front of multiple positions defensively. [player_tooltip player_id="1107843" first="Cade" last="McCullough"] | 6’7” | West Point ’22 McCullough is an underrated big man out of a smaller area that more coaches need to get on, because he’s extremely versatile and an inside-out mismatch. He can put it on the deck and create in isolation situations, he can create and make shots from multiple levels and he’s a good passer and has quality post moves as well. He runs the floor hard and is an excellent rebounder on both ends, he can play on the perimeter and make plays for himself and others and he’s very productive across the board when he’s on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="999623" first="Luke" last="Smith"] | 6’7” | Collegiate ’23 Smith is set for a breakout year at Collegiate and is one of the more versatile big men in the Richmond area. He’s smooth handling it and makes excellent passes and reads on the perimeter, he can step out and shoot it from deep and he can score in the paint over both shoulders as well.
