Mason Lee Mason Lee 6'6" | SF Providence | 2023 State FL l 6’6 W l Providence
Lee will continue to make strides this season. The kid is lanky with ice in his veins; He shoots the leather off the basketball. It is difficult for most defenders to contest his shot. His height and ability to shoot over opponents are uncanny. His role is significant to success in this “new look” Providence team. High-IQ kid that is solid in the read and react system.
Beza Miller Beza Miller 6'0" | PG Episcopal | 2023 State FL l 6’0 G l Episcopal
Miller is a floor general when on the court. He consistently plays at his pace and runs the offense to the “T”. The perimeter shot has improved significantly. His efficiency while in the game makes him a coach’s delight. Miller rarely has a turnover during a game. He is an excellent passer that is unselfish with the basketball. There has been a slight increase in his vertical lately; Not many holes in his game overall.
Cornelius Davis Cornelius Davis 6'2" | SF Sandalwood | 2023 FL l 6’2 G l Sandalwood
This young man has been on my radar for a few years now; I believe he is in store for a breakout season. He is the best athlete on this team (Baseball, Basketball, Football & Track). The kid can play ball. With the new acquisitions around him, one would expect Davis to be more of a sleeper impact this season. Davis is an above-average slasher that can get above the rim. He has the speed, athleticism, and grit that coaches look for in players. His jump shot is starting to come along. Davis is a scrappy defender as well.
Pierce Shirk Pierce Shirk 6'4" | SG Bolles | 2023 State FL l 6’3 G l Bolles
Shirk is due for a big season this year. He is a solid perimeter shooter and is becoming more confident in getting to the rim. The stage is set at Bolles for him to be more of a contributor within the offense. He has a solid frame. Shirk fits well in the read and react system. He is a willing defender that rebounds well at the guard position.
Jye Thompson Jye Thompson 6'5" | SF West Nassau | 2023 FL l 6’5 F l West Nassau
Thompson is a magnet, a ball hawk. He always finds the basketball or vice versa. He does the dirty work not listed on the stat sheet (shot contests, deflections, and forced turnovers). Thompson is an athletic kid that rebounds at a high clip, especially on the offensive glass. He was the perfect glue guy for this team last year. Expectations are the same moving forward into this season. I’d also expect more offensively to pick up as well.
