My Summer recaps continue with some of the top SGs I saw during the Summer during my travels. It is important to note 2 of the 5 prospects on this list are already committed to colleges while the remaining 3 should be scholarship players. Take a look and see who impressed.

[player_tooltip player_id="921807" first="Jadon" last="Coles"] (2022)- It doesn’t take long watching Coles to understand why he is one of the more athletic SGs in the state. The Thomas More commit was an effective defender watching him with Midwest Basketball Club this Summer. Good size at 6-foot-3 that combines with the athleticism to make Coles a unique prospect. Explosive offensively and is particularly difficult to contain with the speed and size. Will fit well with Thomas More and should have a strong showing this Winter with Lakota East.

[player_tooltip player_id="921743" first="Jared" last="Frey"] (2022)- Frey is one of the better shooters on this list but is here because of his versatility when I watched him with Hilliard Davidson in June. Finds his spot and can knock down shots really anywhere on the perimeter. Has the size at 6-foot-5 to be a collegiate 2G plus his shooting touch. I mentioned versatility as Frey showed he could put the ball on the floor when needed and ran some PG for Davidson. Frey announced recently he will be attending ISA this Winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1090160" first="Jack" last="Kronauge"] (2023)- Kronauge is another Lakota East product that impresses with his play. The 6-foot-2 guard was a player I saw multiple times between Summer HS ball, Midwest Basketball Club, or Cincinnati Open Run hosted by Triple Double Prospects. Kronauge can shoot the ball well but impresses with his unselfishness and willingness to give up a good shot to allow a teammate a better shot. Shooting mechanics are extremely crisp and showed more bounce as the Summer went on.

[player_tooltip player_id="921742" first="Jalen" last="Wenger"] (2022)- Wenger was impressive with All-Ohio Black when I watched him at Ballin Under 1 Roof in July. The 6-foot-4 2G has great size and a football like build that makes him a mismatch on the perimeter. Understands he has muscle to use and not afraid to initiate contact on either ends of the floor. As he works on his shooting touch, he could become a priority for D2s across the Region. Bound to have a big year with his high school team, Dalton HS.

[player_tooltip player_id="809630" first="Logan" last="Woods"] (2022)- Woods is one of the better two-way players I saw this Summer. Unfortunately for college coaches, he is off the table as Woods committed to Wright State last month. The 6-foot-4 Fairfield senior-to-be played tough defense all Summer when I watched him. Wasn’t afraid to guard anyone and sat down focusing on the fundamentals. Great footwork, kept hands in control, and was aware of where he and his help-side was. Offensively showed quality play in pick-and-roll situations. Overall a very smart and high IQ guard.
