Bruce’s Best: Summer Stockrisers Vol 3
<p>The summer season offers a ton of opportunities for potential prospects. The NCAA provided 6 Live Period Days in June (June 18th – 20th June 25th-27th) and 9 Days in July (July 8th – 11th, July 21st -26th). Some players used this period to justify their rankings, others as a way to catch the eyes of coaches and scouts. In this article, a follow up to <a href="https://prephoops.com/2021/07/bruces-best-summer-stockrisers-vol-2/">Stockrisers Vol 2,</a> we take a look at some local players who used the summer to raise their stock. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1057884" first="Jace" last="Aquiningoc"] <em>5'8 PG Liberty 2024 (#35PHN 2024)</em> - The diminutive Aquiningoc is a shifty PG with a good handle. He's a shot-maker that knocks them down when open, and off the dribble. He plays alongside one of the top PGs in the country [player_tooltip player_id="986955" first="DJ" last="Thomas"] on both the grassroots circuit and with his high school team, providing him with several opportunities for exposure. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1132372" first="Jayden" last="Hunter"] <em>5'10 PG Virgin Valley 2022 (#93PHN 2022)</em> - Got to see Hunter play in Utah a couple of months ago. His toughness really stood out to me. The speedy PG is a dogged defender that loves guarding the ball. He also is willing to sacrifice his body to go in and get tough hard nosed rebounds. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1105245" first="Kollin" last="Ngo"] <em>5'10 CG Boulder City 2023 (#30PHN 2023)</em> - I've gotten to see quite of bit of Ngo on the Prep Hoops Circuit. He's proven he can score the ball in transition, or by slashing off the bounce. The combo should be a crucial part of a young rebuilding Boulder City squad, providing further opportunities for him to showcase his talents.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="985630" first="Nakalya" last="Fabello"] <em>5'10 PG Valley 2023 (#13PHN 2023)</em> <em>(featured image)</em> - It's an overall improvement in his game that has lead to Fabello becoming a stockriser. Watching him over the course of the summer, he's improved his outside shooting, ballhandling, and playmaking ability. His vision is terrific and allows him to find teammates in the tiniest of windows. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1137209" first="Desean" last="Moreno"] <em>6'4 SF Spring Valley (#24PHN 2024)</em> - Moreno's athletic ability is off the charts and has lead to his rise. He's a scorer that doesn't need plays run for him in order to get buckets. The athletic wing can get out and finish in transition, and get buckets off offensive putbacks. </p>
