Team Camp Spotlight

<p>Christ the King high school has produced many high-level D1 players. The NBA over the years has also seen its share of alumni from this program. Their players competed at the CHSAA team camp and we got a look at the next tier to hopefully  grace the D1 landscape. </p> <p><strong>Jaylin Lewis.     6”4.     2023.   CTK</strong></p> <p>Solid on the ball defender. Was excellent in transition. Excellent athlete downhill north-south player. Working on improving his shooting.</p> <p><strong>Bryce Williams.    6”1.   2023.   CTK</strong></p> <p>Real good help defender is also very good on the ball. Finishes around the rim through contact. Outstanding on the defensive glass. Finishes around the rim with either hand. Has improved his game every year. Knows before he is told if he made a mistake. Sees the game like a coach. Excellent shooter. Finishes at the rim in traffic.  Scores from all three levels. Clears space and the glass on both ends of the floor. Keeps the ball high. Uses his body well to set up in post. In this event, he showed his versatility.  Excellent skill set. Made a lot of good decisions with the ball. Excellent in the post and knows how to score the ball. Scores at all three levels.</p> <p><strong>DeCoursey Corley.         6”3.        2023.    CTK</strong></p> <p>Was injured and did not play. But he is a tremendous athlete. Jumps out of the gym. Defends multiple positions. Finishes around the rim and in transition. Working to improve his shot off the dribble.</p> <p><strong>Jahlil. Bethea.            6”2.     2023.       CTK</strong></p> <p>Really good shooter. Finishes in the lane off the bounce. Excellent handle and real good at changing speed with the ball in his hands. Has worked on limiting turnovers.</p> <p><strong>Bryce Merchant.         6”4.      2023.      CTK</strong></p> <p>Strong player. Three-level scorer. Outstanding rebounder. Makes good decisions. A force in the middle. Likes to play with contact. Runs the floor really well. A rim protector who also rotates well on the defensive end.</p>
