Devin Ceaser Devin Ceaser 6'1" | CG St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2022 State VA | 6’1” CG | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
New Offers: Virginia Tech, UNCW, UNCG, Fordham, St. Joe’s, Buffalo, Bowling Green, Towson, St. Francis (PA), Fairfield, Buffalo
No one at the DMV Live at DeMatha increased their stock more than Ceaser, who impressed coaches with his all out style of play and his game changing speed while being one of the top scorers in both sessions. We’ve been saying for a while that Ceaser was heavily under recruited and it was only a matter of coaches seeing him before he took off, and that’s exactly what happened as he picked up double digit offers over the weekends. He’s comparable to Russel Westbrook as he’s an all-out kind of guy who comes at you over and over again, he’s unbelievably fast and explosive and he’s a two way impact guy who plays with a chip.
Davin Cosby | 6’4” WG | John Marshall
New Offers: George Washington, Radford, Quinnipiac, Howard
While I was at DMV Live, my phone kept buzzing from across town as Cosby went wild at DC Live at Maret with John Marshall after putting up big numbers against some of the best teams in the DMV area. The 6’4” shooting guard showed his ability to fill it up in bunches, coming off of screens and making shots from deep on the move and shooting it at a high clip from deep. Coaches are starting to see at his size that he’s a good athlete and very good shooter, and while he picked up the offers above he’s also hearing from many other schools at all levels.
Miles Webb Miles Webb 6'7" | PF St. Stephen's St. Agnes | 2022 State VA | 6’7” PF | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
New Offers: St. Francis (PA)
I’m surprised that Webb didn’t pick up more offers these past two weekends, as the versatile forward shows great potential moving forward with his length and his walking mismatch ability. He’s mobile and can guard multiple positions, he has improved on the perimeter as a shooter and someone who can put it on the deck and he’s athletic and can play at the rim as well. He’ll have coaches in attendance at the 3SSB Circuit with New World and should pick up more offers moving forward.
Saxby Sunderland Saxby Sunderland 6'2" | CG Flint Hill | 2022 State VA | 6’2” CG | Flint Hill
New Offers: Fordham, UMass-Lowell, Merrimack, William & Mary, Fairfield, Elon, George Washington, Cleveland State
Sunderland had two great sessions at DMV Live, and his offer list has grown extensively due to his play. The 6’2” combo guard showed that he can fill it up in bunches and be efficient as he’s an excellent shot creator and maker from multiple levels, and he showed after he starts getting it going he can make plays for others once the defense starts to collapse on him. His Flint Hill group had a good showing and coaches will be following him in July as well.
Matt Gray | 6’6” WF | Flint Hill
New Offers: Radford, Cleveland State, Merrimack, St. Francis (PA), NC A&T
Gray went from relatively unknown to picking up four offers over the weekends, as the 6’6” wing impressed with his athleticism and high motor on both ends of the floor. He’s improved a lot over the past few years, and that bolds well for him at the next level as he continues to develop and could look like a totally different player in a few years. He has great physical and athletic traits making him an impact on both ends, he’s a good slasher and finisher at the rim and he plays hard on both ends of the floor.
Cavan Reilly Cavan Reilly 6'4" | SG Bishop O'Connell | 2022 State VA | 6’3” WG | Bishop O’Connell
New Offers: Fordham
Reilly had a couple of good weekends, picking up his first A10 offer in Fordham. The 6’3” wing is a knock down shooter from deep and he had multiple games where his shooting took over the game, but he showed he can do more than just fill it up from deep as well. He’s a high IQ player who has good instincts on both ends, he makes the hustle plays and plays hard and he’s a good athlete who can finish above the rim when he gets downhill.
Christian May Christian May 6'6" | SF Bishop O'Connell | 2022 State VA | 6’4” WF | Bishop O’Connell
New Offers: Fordham, Fairfield
May was another O’Connell wing to pull in some new offers, as he showed his improvement over the past few years and he’s likely to get more offers coming his way. The 6’4” wing is a great glue guy who can defend the other team’s best player, he can catch and shoot from deep and hit the pull-up and he’s a good rebounder as well. He may look even better with his Takeover group where the scoring doesn’t fall on him as much and he can impact the game in other ways with his high motor and athleticism.
Justyn Fernandez | 6’4” WG | VES
New Offers: Boston College, Oregon State, Clemson, Seton Hall
Fernandez was already a hot name heading into the live periods, and with his VES team heading up to Philly for the live periods he was seen by more coaches and pulled in a string of high major offers, including Oregon State on an official visit. With good size and crazy athleticism, Fernandez has huge potential as a scorer and has had big games all spring with DC Premier. He can play on and off the basketball, he gets downhill and finishes well above the rim and he can catch and shoot consistently from deep.
Donald Hand Jr | 6’5” WG | Landstown
New Offers: Boston College
Hand Jr. and his Landstown group went down to North Carolina for a live period where he picked up an offer from Boston College and he should see more come July. One of the top scorers in the state, he has the total package as a guard who can play on or off the basketball, he has elite range and he’s crafty off the bounce and a good finisher at the rim. He’s a smart player who knows how to create space and can make contested shots, and he can get to the free throw line often for easy points.
Chris Brown Chris Brown 6'5" | SG Peninsula Catholic | 2022 State VA | 6’3” WG | Peninsula Catholic
New Offers: NJIT
Brown picked up his first offer from NJIT after his play at the Virginia Live Period Shootout, and he’s been trending toward this moment for a while now as he’s been one of the 757s most underrated prospects for years now. A big guard that brings it on both ends, Brown is a very good athlete that can play above the rim, he can guard the basketball well and he can get to spots and make shots from multiple levels. With this offer, I expect other division one schools to check him out in July as well.
