Annandale Team Camp Saturday Scouting

ANNANDALE, VA -- Some of the Northern Virginia area’s public school talent was on display today at Annandale Team Camp. Here are some notes from the first part of Saturday’s action. Amr Areikat | Langley 2022 Areikat is a good shooter. He made multiple threes. Areikat passes the ball very well and without hesitation. He rotates defensively and gets deflections. Areikat can use his left hand. He dribbles with his head up and gets to his spots from the mid-range. He relocates and knows how to get open. Donovan Bass | West Potomac 2023 <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Bass-Donovan-Head-Shot.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224335" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Bass-Donovan-Head-Shot-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a> Bass is a good rebounding guard who applied relentless pressure on the ball defensively. Omar Chambers | West Springfield 2022 <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Chambers-Omar-Head-Shot.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224336" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Chambers-Omar-Head-Shot-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a> Chambers is becoming a leader with his actions and words. He sets the tone defensively but is gaining confidence offensively. Ben Coolam | Yorktown 2023 Coolam is a southpaw guard who shoots the ball well and is active defensively. [player_tooltip player_id="1217463" first="James" last="Dapogny"] | Falls Church 2022 Dapogny might be a threat to record a triple-double each time he hits the floor this winter with the way he rebounds and pushes the ball ahead. He is an active and alert help defender who plays with a high motor. Nigel Henderson | West Potomac 2023 Henderson is very fast. He gets up and down the court in transition. He is relentless on the offensive glass in part because of his quick second jump. Henderson made some unselfish throw-ahead passes with touch. Adi Hrnjez | Marshall 2022 Hrnjez is light on his feet. He is always talking on defense and calling out screens. Hrnjez exhibited a virtually automatic jump hook from the right block over his left shoulder He also showed that he can catch and turn at the elbow. He hit a 15-footer shooting over the top of his opponent because of his size and high release point. TJ Hutchison | Yorktown 2022 <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Hutchison-TJ-Head-Shot.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224337" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Hutchison-TJ-Head-Shot-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a> Hutchison is a good shooter who displays good footwork and follows through. He also knows how to play off his shot. Hutchison hit a floater to go along with multiple threes. Luke Jackson | West Springfield 2022 Jackson is a reliable paint presence. He can score over both shoulders. He has soft hands and is a good passer as well. DJ Kennard | Falls Church 2023 Kennard a versatile wing who is well-conditioned. He is also a good passer and defender. Brandon Logan | Oakton 2023 <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Logan-Brandon-Head-Shot.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224338" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Logan-Brandon-Head-Shot-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a> Logan is an interesting prospect. He gets off the ground vertically and knows how to stay low on defense. Logan moves well laterally. He calls out screens and has good shot-blocking potential. Logan showcased a turnaround fadeaway and a jump hook. Jamison Lynam | South County 2023 <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Lynam-Jamison-Head-Shot.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224341" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Lynam-Jamison-Head-Shot-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a> Lynam is a skilled guard who plays with a motor and toughness. He could turn some heads with his play this winter. James McIntyre | Washington-Liberty 2023 <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/McIntyre-James-Head-Shot.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224339" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/McIntyre-James-Head-Shot-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a> McIntyre was one of the better shooters in the gym. He scored 17 points while hitting multiple threes. Eli Nassif | Marshall 2022 Nassif hit three spot-up treys. He is proving to be a potent catch-and-shoot threat who brings his hard hat defensively. He made a good skip pass from the block and just sees the floor well in general. Chris Short | Yorktown 2022 Short scored the ball with confidence. But he made some really good passes as well. Max Warrell | McLean 2023 <a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Warrell-Max-Head-Shot.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1224340" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/06/Warrell-Max-Head-Shot-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" /></a> Warrell is an interesting post-prospect. He is very strong and sturdily built with broad shoulders. He walls up. Warrell is fundamentally sound. He has good footwork. He can pass. He rebounds in traffic. He can catch and finish. Warrell also talks on defense and knows how to move without the ball. He displayed a good soft touch around the basket as well. Luke Watson | Langley 2023 Watson is a difference-maker for langley. He has a big body. Watson is an active and alert defender who can score in a variety of ways.
