In the two days that we spent at the Rib City Classic, we were able to watch teams from different regions of the state. Today, we will begin to list the top players from those regions, starting with the top standouts from the larger schools from the host SEMO region. These players are from the Class 4-5 schools in the area.

[player_tooltip player_id="1160651" first="Jadis" last="Jones"] 6’5" New Madrid Central: The athletic 2024 standout was one of the top players in the entire event as he led the Eagles to the championship game. His strength and explosiveness enabled him to dominate in the post and on the offensive boards. He also plays with a high basketball IQ with the ability to take the rebound and go coast to coast for the layup or the dunk. He was also knocking down perimeter jumpers throughout the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="1070085" first="Cameron" last="Williams"] 6’8" Cape Girardeau Central: A 2023 prospect with the body of a power forward and the skill set of a perimeter player. He has a nice touch from the elbow and he can also stretch it out to 3-point range off the pick and pop. He also has a strong set of post moves where he uses his size and finesse to get buckets in the post.

[player_tooltip player_id="1160820" first="B.J." last="Williamson"] 5’10" New Madrid Central: The 2024 combo guard is as dynamic and fearless a player as you're going to see and he showed those traits once again in Dexter. He just attacks the basket relentlessly and he has the uncanny skill of finishing at all different angles amongst the trees. He also has some tough escape moves to drop off defenders on his way to the basket and the jumper is coming along.

[player_tooltip player_id="1169163" first="Cole" last="Nichols"] 6’2" Dexter: A 2023 shooting guard who will become the focal point of the Bearcats' squad after the graduation of six key players. He looked ready to take on the added responsibility as he found ways to score at all three levels while taking on more ball handling duties. He is physically stronger which helped him get to the basket at play through the contact.

Shamar Williamson 6’0" New Madrid Central: The 2022 guard is a dynamic guard who is a whirlwind of activity at both ends of the floor. He loves to get downhill on the dribble and he did a nice job of finishing in the lane through contact. He was also hitting his share of 3-pointers to keep defenders honest. He is also very disruptive on the defensive end, which is a staple for any player who plays for legendary coach Lennies McFerren.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180626" first="John" last="Brandtner"] 6’5" Cape Girardeau Central: A 2022 wing player who brings good size to the perimeter. He handles much of his team's ball handling duties and he's a solid decision maker with a good perimeter shot. He uses his size well to get into the lane and shoot over smaller defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180834" first="Marcelous" last="Phillips"] 6’4" New Madrid Central: A 2022 forward who's an unsung player on a very talented Eagles team. He's an explosive athlete who can rebound and block shots around the basket. He will finish strong with slam dunks in traffic and he displayed a nice little jump hook in the post.
