Top 2022 Prospects

[player_tooltip player_id="815577" first="Maliq" last="Brown"] | 6’8” PF | Blue Ridge School

Offers: Syracuse, St. John’s, Texas A&M, Richmond, Wake Forest, Murray State, VCU, Penn State, TCU, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, ODU

Synopsis: One of the top big men on the east coast and still one of the most underrated guys in the country, Brown is a versatile big man that thrives in transition, is efficient in the post and has great hands and feet in the paint. His smooth athleticism allows him to play above the rim and run the floor in transition, and he can switch and guard pretty much any position on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="798689" first="Houston" last="Emory"] | 6’10” C | Blue Ridge School

Offers: Wake Forest, Rhode Island, La Salle, ODU, Radford, Bryant

Synopsis: The perfect compliment to Brown, Emory is a blue collar guy in the paint who can contest and block shots at the rim that is quick off his feet and able to play above the rim off of two feet. He can stretch the floor with his ability to shoot it from deep, he has good touch in the paint and he’s able to finish at and above the rim off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id="574430" first="Justin" last="Taylor"] | 6’5” WG | STAB

Offers: Syracuse, Virginia Tech, UVA, Indiana, UConn, UNC, Providence, Georgetown, Richmond, NC State, Maryland, Butler, George Washington, Richmond, St. Joes, Lehigh, Bryant, ODU

Probably the most highly touted prospect in the event, Taylor has all the tools to be a successful two guard at the next level with his mix of size, skill and athleticism on the wing. Known as a knock down shooter who can come off screens and make shots, he’s shown he’s much more as he’s improved off the bounce to create for himself and others, he’s a smart and reliable defender who can guard the other team’s best player and he’s an athletic and crafty finisher around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="897404" first="Paul" last="Lewis"] | 6’2” PG | Bishop O’Connell

Committed to Maryland

The lone guy who has already committed to a high major in this group, Lewis is a microwave scoring guard that can fill it up in bunches and run the show at the same time. He’s highly skilled off the bounce as a three level scorer, he’s quick and shifty with the ball in his hands and probably the best part of his game is the way he accepts challenges and goes at the best players when they’re put in front of him.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049815" first="Travis" last="Roberts"] | 6’5” WF | Bishop Walsh

Offers: Georgetown, San Diego State, UMBC, Fresno State, Wichita State, Bryant, Southern Utah

Roberts is a guy coaches could be very impressed by in this event as the 6’5” wing has all the tools to be a reliable three-and-d guy at the next level. He has good size and is a good athlete in the open floor and on the defensive end, he plays well off the ball and works to get open and he can make shots from deep and from the midrange as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1110543" first="Mady" last="Traore"] | 6’9” PF | National Christian

Offers: Maryland, Oregon, USC, Pittsburgh, Illinois, Florida, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Auburn

Traore is still a project but he has shown enough potential to have some of the top schools in the country already offer him hoping he will pan out moving forward. The 6’9” forward is a fluid athlete that can play inside-out, he can guard multiple positions and he has a good base skill set that makes him a mismatch with his ability to put it on the deck and make shots from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id="848076" first="Donovan" last="Atwell"] | 6’3” WG | Providence Day

Offers: Radford, UNCG, ETSU, Bucknell, Winthrop

One of the top shooters that will be in attendance, Atwell is a lanky lefty that is a good athlete and has an absolute flame thrower from deep. When I watched him with CP3 he spaced the floor well and showed deep range and a quick release, but I expect him on this Providence Day team to show coaches he can do more with the ball in his hands and show his athleticism and craftiness as an all-around scorer too.

[player_tooltip player_id="815582" first="David" last="Onanina"] | 6’7” C | Bishop O’Connell

Offers: Lamar, Southern Utah

Onanina is a throw back style big man who has a mix of strength and athleticism that allows him to bully other guys in the paint and make his presence known as a scorer and a rim protector despite being slightly on the shorter side. He plays with a great motor as he runs the floor and fights for 50-50 balls, and he’s an excellent rebounder both in and out of his area and in traffic as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="964450" first="Jacob" last="Rice"] | 6’7” PF | Miller School

Offers: Clarion, Georgian Court, Millersville

Rice is a player who will impress both division two and low major coaches in this event with his blend of size and versatility, as he’s a guy who can play and guard multiple positions on the floor. At 6’7”, he’s a walking mismatch that can shoot it from deep, is athletic enough to play in transition and above the rim and he can rebound and guard multiple positions as well.
