The Circuit League: Top Scorers (17U)

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1176065" first="Dior" last="Johnson"] - Vegas Elite - G</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1176065" first="Dior" last="Johnson"] put on a show in both games that I watched him play as he had a combined 42 points in these two games. He showed off his pull-up jumper in Vegas Elite’s game against Team Trae Young and he knocked down some three’s late in the game when he needed to take over. When shooting the ball, Johnson is unfazed by tight defense. A large amount of his jumpers were heavily contested and he had multiple and-one jumpers over the course of the weekend. He also uses his handle to create space and get to the basket.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="781876" first="Keyonte" last="George"] - Southern Assault - G</strong></p> <p>George finished with 24 points in Southern Assault’s only game at the Circuit League and they took down a tough Vegas Elite team. George shot 7-13 from the field, knocking down four three-pointers and making six free throws. He has deep range and he was extremely efficient from inside the three-point line as he only missed one shot from inside the arc. George takes advantage of every opportunity to finish at the rim and is very efficient when he gets to the paint.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1052077" first="Avery" last="Jackson Jr"]. - Texas Dynasty - G</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1052077" first="Avery" last="Jackson Jr"]. was a walking bucket in Texas Dynasty’s 62-39 win over Texas Legion. He lets his defense lead to offense as he anticipates passes so well and takes his steals the distance for an easy layup. He is also an excellent rebounder for his position as he takes defensive rebounds coast to coast for layups and crashes the offensive glass and scores second-chance points. When getting to the basket, he uses his body extremely well. Jackson also knocked down some three’s. He’s a very complete guard that had the ability to score whenever he wanted.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="781883" first="Rylan" last="Griffen"] - Team Trae Young - G</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="781883" first="Rylan" last="Griffen"] was the leading scorer in both of the games I watched Team Trae Young play on Saturday and Sunday and he tallied 45 total points over these two games. He shoots the three well, finishes around the rim, and has a solid floater. When getting to the basket, Griffen often finishes above the rim and is not afraid to dunk over anyone who decides to jump with him. Teams had no answer for Griffen this weekend.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1032938" first="AJ" last="Storr"] - Vegas Elite - F</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1032938" first="AJ" last="Storr"] had a huge weekend scoring the ball and landed multiple division-one offers over the course of the weekend due to his excellent performances game in and game out. He is a great shooter from downtown and was automatic from the corners. Storr also finishes well around the basket and did great in transition as he finished above the rim and caught some lobs. His offensive game is balanced and he was a reliable scorer for his team.</p>
