In honor of this great group, here is the 1st team of senior all-stars drawn from 2A and the two divisions of 1A:
1st Team:
PG Lucas Hammeke Lucas Hammeke 6'0" | PG Hutchinson Trinity | 2021 State KS , 6-foot, Hutchinson Trinity:
Scoring at a historic clip, dishing out tons of assists, Hammeke was a playmaker in every sense of the word. He averaged 4.0 assists as a senior, to go with his 21.2 points per game. The first-team 2A senior averaged 20.3 points as a junior to earn third-team honors.
SG Jayden Garrison Jayden Garrison 6'2" | CG Little River | 2021 State KS , 6-foot-1, Little River:
There’s a reason both the Topeka Capital-Journal and Sports in Kansas listed Garrison on their all-classes all-star teams. Garrison demonstrated that he’s not just a great small-school guard. He’s a great guard, period. One of the most versatile athletes in the state, Garrison did it all at a high level at Little River. A two-time first team all-stater, Garrison averaged 24.2 points per game this season.
SF Aaron Skidmore Aaron Skidmore 6'3" | SF South Gray | 2021 State KS , 6-foot-3, South Gray:
The rugged Skidmore would provide a powerful presence to the front wall of an all-star team. He earned first-team 1A the past couple of seasons. Skidmore is a beast in the lane and on the glass, with the strength to excel in traffic, and the athleticism to outmaneuver bigger players.
PF Tyus Wilson Tyus Wilson 6'6" | PF Sterling | 2021 State KS , 6-foot-6, Sterling:
The guy recently upped his personal high jump record to 7 feet, 2 inches. Say no more. He’s an athletic anomaly who could rip down tons of rebounds and block shots at a high rate. He had some huge offensive outpourings as well, like his 48 points against Bennington. With his size, athleticism, and all-around game, Wilson is the ideal power forward.
C Harlan Obioha Harlan Obioha 7'0" | C Hoxie | 2021 State KS , 7-foot, Hoxie:
The biggest man on the court is also an athletic one, who can move, catch and make plays with his coordination. Because of his combination of size and athleticism, Obioha is a sought-after prospect in both football and basketball. He had a huge senior season, with an impressively diverse stat line: 23.0 points, 12.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 4.1 blocks per game.
