The 2nd Annual Balldawgs A.S Game took place Sunday, May 2nd at Democracy Prep in Las Vegas, NV. The game was part of series of events showcasing the class of 2021. In addition to the Local Game, the event featured a 3 point shootout, a dunk contest, and a National A.S game. While the game featured several committed players, it also featured several talented prospects still on the board. In this article, we take a look at some of the top unsigned prospects from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="1110135" first="Kiree" last="Huie"] 6’8 PF Liberty (#15) - The wide-bodied Huie is a banger and natural rebounder. He plays with a great motor and is relentless when attacking the glass. His singular skill of grabbing in traffic boards translates well to the college level. He is currently a high-value target of several JC’s and has left his option of Prep School open.

[player_tooltip player_id="927135" first="Mason" last="Mich’l"] 6’7 PF Desert Oasis (#11) - Mich’l is one of the more intriguing prospects still on the board. When he is playing at his ceiling he’s a versatile forward capable of stretching the floor and attacking the rim. An undervalued athlete, Mich’l plays with good explosion and lift, which provides him with the ability to finish above the rim at a high level.

[player_tooltip player_id="1025207" first="Vinny" last="Veikalas"] 6’3 SF Valley (#14) - Some NAIA school is going to grab Veikalas, and be pleasantly surprised. He’s the perfect undersized forward, complete with the ability to score off the bounce or post up and finish down low.

[player_tooltip player_id="1134727" first="Calvin" last="Schmeling"] 6’5 SG Democracy Prep (#12) - Schmeling transferred from Wisconsin to play the 2 at Coronado H.S. That spot was occupied by 5-star prospect [player_tooltip player_id="533052" first="Jaden" last="Hardy"]. Once he’s gotten his opportunity to play, he has shown what he can do. Schmeling is one of the top shooters in the state and has prototypical size to play the wing at the next level. His circumstances are anything but normal, but in a normal season, he would probably be off the board by now.

[player_tooltip player_id="927147" first="Lowell" last="Francis Chan"] 6’5 SF Sierra Vista (#55) - Chan has a remarkable ability to create for himself and pull up for mid-range jumpers. He has good size, and just enough ball skills to play the wing at the college level. He is also one of the top high academic prospects in the state, carrying a 4.0 GPA.
