The Mountain West Invitational is taking place from Friday, April 23rd until Sunday, April 25th. Hosted by Vegas Elite, the event featured over 100 programs across 8 different divisions. The event also featured several talented big men. In this article, we take a look at some of the top bigs from the event.

Kyle Lemke 6’7 PF Flight 2024 - He’s going on my all rim runner team. Lemke sprints the floor on every single possession. In addition to his motor, effort, and energy, he has a solid offensive foundation, with the ability to score over his left shoulder. He showed he could rebound, and he has decent hands. He’s definitely a player to keep an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id="967725" first="Jaxon" last="Heiden"] 6’9 PF Salt Lake Rebels 2022 (#39PHU 2022) (featured image) - I’m sensing a breakout summer for Heiden. He showed flashes of skilled four ability this weekend. Heiden was able to knock down a few catch and shoot 3’s from straight on and showed agile feet when making moves from the post.

[player_tooltip player_id="1132291" first="Bowen" last="Hammer"] 6’7 PF Fastbreak 2023 - Hammer is a bucket getter, that scored in multiple levels. He showed he can shoot it, and put the ball on the ground several times to create for himself. He has a surprisingly quick 1st jump and flashed some iso moves that made him look like he could be a legit wing.

Jager Francom 6’7 PF Utah Supreme 2024 - Fancom was one of the top passing big men I saw. He has decent vision, and good passing instincts when hitting cutters. He grabbed several boards and showed a willingness to run the floor and finish at the rim.

Cameron Gagnier 6’6 PF Salt Lake Rebels 2022 - Good athlete that scored with his back to the basket, and flashed some explosiveness. He finished off dribble drives, playing through contact while getting to the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="927164" first="Desmond" last="Green"] 6’9 C Las Vegas Punishers 2021 - Once a game Green does something that shows his potential. On this day it was a block at one end, beating everyone down the floor, catching a chest pass in transition, and finishing it with a thunderous Tomahawk. The unsigned senior is currently one of the hotter JC prospects on the west coast.
