Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Craven is a menace on the defensive end who has a knack for jumping passing lanes and turning defense into offense. He averaged 4.3 steals a game as a junior while also leading the Lions in scoring at 15.1 points a game. His jumper is still a work in progress, but he’s really good when he’s playing aggressively on the offensive end, looking to attack the rim and finish through contact. He’s a good playmaking guard who can create for his teammates as well.

Craven (cover photo) was sensational in the Lions’ season-opening overtime win over Carlisle, going for 27 points (10-20 FG, 7-11 FT), 5 rebounds, 6 steals, and an assist. He was especially dominant in the second half and overtime, where he scored 23 of his 27 points. Craven was more of an off-ball role player last season for the Lions, but has stepped into a primary scoring role and thrived early in the season for DMC. He showed increased confidence in his ball-handling and shot creation, routinely putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim for creative finishes either through or around the contact. He’s a bouncy athlete who loves to jump passing lanes and he’ll contribute on the glass.
