In the semifinals, Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian defeated Rudyard by a score of 61-43. On the other side of the bracket, Detroit Frederick Douglass beat My. Pleasant Sacred Heart by a score of 61-37 .In the championship game, Detroit Frederick Douglass won a hard fought battle 47-41 over Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Javantae Randle Javantae Randle 6'9" | PF Detroit Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MI (2021, PF, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Randle definitely sent a message in the Final 4. He almost nabbed a triple-double in the first game when he had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 blocks. He was equally as impressive in the finals with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks while shooting 5-6 from the field.
EJ Suggitt (2022, PG, Rudyard)
Suggitt was solid in the round of 4. He led Rudyard with 19 points.
Damonn Tiggs (2021, SG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Tiggs was a critical component to his team’s title run. He was a junkyard dog scoring 6 points, grabbing 6 boards, and dishing out 2 assists in the semis. In the title game, he had 8 rebounds, 3 points, and 3 assists.
Brady Titus Brady Titus 5'10" | PG Tri-Unity Christian | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian)
Titus was magnificent throughout the playoffs and especially in the Final 4. In the semis, he had 28 points, 6 assists, 6 steals, and 4 rebounds. Titus continued to prove that he’s an elite point guard.
Austin Treece Austin Treece 6'7" | PF Tri-Unity Christian | 2021 State MI (2021, PF, Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian)
Treece was a difference maker in the paint. In the semifinal game he had 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Treece added 6 points and 5 rebounds in the championship game.
Zach Wentworth (2021, SG, Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart)
Wentworth had an impressive Final 4 game. He finished with 15 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
Pierre Brooks Pierre Brooks 6'5" | SG Detroit Douglass | 2021 State #76 Nation MI II (2021, SG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Brooks II ended a legendary high school career as a state champion. The future Michigan State Spartan was terrific in the Final 4, just as he has been for his entire 4 years of high school basketball. He averaged a double-double in the last 2 games. In the semifinals, Brooks went off for 30 points and snagged 10 rebounds. In the championship game, he showed off his well rounded skill set. He finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Brooks II has established himself as one of the all-time great Michigan high school basketball players and he stamped that resume with an outstanding Final 4 performance and a state championship.
