With the game being dominated by the offensive end, it is refreshing to see young player work extremely hard on the defensive end. With great foot work, quick hands and shot blocking ability these players stand out as the best defenders in King Co. Every coach loves to have that player who takes pride in guarding the best player on the floor. Here are a few of those players.

[player_tooltip player_id="711297" first="Julian" last="Agosto"] https://youtu.be/YwRVkh4CfeY

Agosto is a 5’10 guard Graduation class of 2021. He averaged just over 5 steals a game last season and is looking to have a even better season this year. He has amazing footwork and timing when shooting the gap. This kid is a work horse, and will do what it takes to help his team. He adds 17.8 points and over 6 assist and rebounds, showing he can dominate both ends of the floor. He is a player whos high energy on the defensive end shows on offense as well. He is definitely a player to watch this season.

Louis Grante

Grante is a 6’5 200lb SG Graduation class of 2022. Grante is retuning for his Junior year a little more polished and disciplined. This length and great footwork make him tough to get around. What team wouldn’t like a kid with this stature who can also cause havoc on the defensive end. I anticipate this season being a break out season for him on both sides of the floor. With improvements on shot blocking and rim protection. As his quickness develops he can turn into one of the best defenders in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="923128" first="Jaylin" last="Stewart"]

Stewart is a 6’5 SF Graduation class of 2023. Stewart’s wide frame and long reach gives him a edge on defensive. But his athletic ability is what impresses me the most. He is a young player with has a lot of control and timing to match his footwork. Watching him you can see although he is young he is going to be a great player. This is a young man you want to keep your eye on. Over the next two years he will be a stand out player.

[player_tooltip player_id="843728" first="Winston" last="Cole"]

Cole is a 6’2 G Graduation class of 2021. Cole has great shot blocking ability at the guard position. His timing IQ are complimented by his jumping ability. This is a player who has a passion for the game and does all the little things to help his team, especially down the stretch. He has extremely quick hands and feet and has the ability to guard multiple positions. This is his senior year and I anticipate him coming out ready to work with this shortened season. This young man will be fun to watch this season.
