5A SIC All-Conf. Standouts

<p>In the lovely state of Idaho, 5A is the largest classification and features the biggest schools in the state in regards to total student enrollment. As a result, 5A schools often have much deeper rosters than smaller schools and the talent pool is grand. The 5A SIC conference is the largest in the classification and most of the teams are located in and around the Boise area. During this season, a lot of quality players were on display in all 5A SIC matchups and only a few were able to be named to their all-conference team. Continue reading for a look at a few of the top players from the 5A SIC All-Conference team.</p> <p><strong>Jason Janish, Eagle:</strong> The 5A SIC player of the year was a dominant force in the middle for the Mustangs and proved his worth on both ends of the floor throughout the season. Janish is a rim protector on defense who constantly blocks shots and jams up the lane for opposing players looking to score inside. He makes great defensive reads and rebounds well. On offense, Janish can do a little bit of everything as a gifted passer, a solid shooter, and a great finisher around the rim.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="919667" first="Cooper" last="Lumsden"], Timberline:</strong> Cooper had a great senior season for Timberline and showed his ability to score at all three levels. Lumsden has an excellent jumper from outside and he has a high release point that he uses to shoot over the top of smaller defenders. Lumsden also finishes well at the rim and has an overall great feeling for the game on offense and defense. Cooper is also a great rebounder on both ends of the floor and he crashes the glass hard to secure defensive stops or get easy put backs.</p> <p><strong>Drew Fielder, Rocky Mountain:</strong> The only sophomore on the list, Drew will look to improve his game for the next two seasons. Fielder has great size for a sophomore and is truly learning to use his body to his advantage against smaller defenders. Fielder is developing a solid jump shot from outside and he finishes really well at the rim. Watch for Drew to step up his game for the Grizzlies in the upcoming seasons.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
