D2 Quarterfinal Prediction

<p>The quarterfinals of the state playoffs are here! It’s that time ---- The winner’s to the Breslin Center! The games will take place on April 6th. Here are your matchups, key players, and my predictions.</p> <h2>Division 2</h2> <h3>Ferndale vs. Croswell-Lexington</h3> <p>LOCATION</p> <p>@ Eastpointe</p> <p>KEY PLAYERS</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863927" first="Treyvon" last="Lewis"] (2022, G/F, Ferndale)</strong></p> <p>Lewis is an elite athlete that has been turning heads since last grassroots season. He’ll be a tough matchup.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1051073" first="Hunter" last="Soper"] (2021, SG, Croswell-Lexington)</strong></p> <p>Soper has had a magical senior season and has propelled Croswell-Lexington to new heights as a program. He’s perfectly capable of helping his team extend their run.</p> <p>PREDICTION</p> <p>This is a tough one, but I can’t pick against the hot hand right now.</p> <p>Croswell-Lexington</p> <h3>Grand Rapids Catholic Central vs. Benton Harbor</h3> <p>LOCATION</p> <p>@ Calvin University</p> <p>KEY PLAYERS</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="787680" first="Jack" last="Karasinski"] (2022, SF, Grand Rapids Catholic Central)</strong></p> <p>Karasinski may be one of the top wings in the midwest. The young man shows up every single game.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814589" first="Kentrell" last="Pullian"] (2021, CG, Benton Harbor)</strong></p> <p>Pullian is going to be a steal for a coach at the next level. He’s a magician with the ball and creates for himself and his teammates off the bounce.</p> <p>PREDICTION</p> <p>In my opinion, this was the toughest game to pick. I NEVER want to pick anyone over Benton Harbor and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814589" first="Kentrell" last="Pullian"]</strong>. That being said, I think the depth of Catholic Central and it’s array of talent off the wing and on the perimeter propel them through to the next round.</p> <p>Grand Rapids Catholic Central</p> <h3>Escanaba vs. Bridgeport</h3> <p>LOCATION</p> <p>@ Corunna</p> <p>KEY PLAYERS</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814615" first="Carter" last="Hudson"] (2021, C, Escanaba)</strong></p> <p>Hudson has raised his game to a knew level and will be tough for Bridgeport to deal with in the paint.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814674" first="Jaylen" last="Hodges"] (2021, PG, Bridgeport)</strong></p> <p>Hodges continues to have a statement season, proving he’s an elite athlete and an explosive guard. </p> <p>PREDICTION</p> <p>Bridgeport</p> <h3>Battle Creek Pennfield vs. Romulus Summit Academy</h3> <p>LOCATION</p> <p>@ Chelsea</p> <p>KEY PLAYERS</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814688" first="Ryne" last="Petersen"] (2021, CG, Battle Creek Pennfield)</strong></p> <p>Petersen has put up nice numbers all year and has turned the heads of many in the state.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863928" first="Orlando" last="Lovejoy"] (2022, CG, Romulus Summit Academy)</strong></p> <p>Lovejoy is dynamic with the ball and can create off the bounce with the best of them. </p> <p>PREDICTION</p> <p>Romulus Summit Academy</p>
