AAU PREVIEW: ECI 17U Selects

<p>An exciting group of athletic basketball players. If they come together as a collective group this ECI team could be special. Make sure you make it a priority to see ECI 17U Selects that are coached by Karl Sorby.</p> <p><strong><u>Roster</u></strong></p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/03/Zhend.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1156805" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/03/Zhend-244x300.jpg" alt="" width="244" height="300" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1046357" first="Zach" last="Hendrickson"] (2022) |5-11 G| Our Redeemer’s </strong>– He was one of the best PG’s in North Dakota this past season. He will do a great job at running the show for Selects. Between him and Dixson they will have two awesome leaders. Zach is a big-time shooter who can drill it off the bounce or spotting up. He is a quick player with great handles.</p> <p><strong>Mason Hills (2022) |5-10 G| Moorhead</strong> – A lefty who is a crafty finisher around the rim. Mason has a nice floater game. On defense, his quick feet make him an active on-ball defender. He has improved his jump-shooting over the course of the high school season.</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/10/john-jenkins-moorhead-2022.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1063558" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/10/john-jenkins-moorhead-2022-300x188.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="188" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1139205" first="John" last="Jenkins"] (2022) |6-5 F| Moorhead</strong> – He has the ability to finish above the rim. John is a good athlete who attacks the rim aggressively. Jenkins is a long and rangy defender. He gets his hands on a ton of passes for deflections and turnovers.</p> <p><strong>Karsten Stumo (2022) |6-1 G| Moorhead</strong> – A hard-nosed player that never takes possessions off. He is a great communicator. Karsten is the ultimate team player. He plays with loads of energy. His offensive skills are constantly improving.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="812232" first="Connor" last="Trahan"] (2022) |6-5 G| Bismarck Century</strong> – He will be a versatile player for Selects. Connor will do damage inside and outside. He can stretch the floor with his excellent 3-point shooting ability. Trahan is a nice athlete that will help on the boards.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1133064" first="Kaleb" last="Larson"] (2022) |6-1 G| West Fargo Sheyenne </strong>– His best attribute is 3-point shooting. Kaleb can be a lights-out shooter from beyond the arc. He has great range that can extend out beyond the college line. As the season went on his aggressiveness on defense and rebounding improved.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="812236" first="Keauno" last="Newton"] (2022) |6-3 F| Devils Lake</strong> – He is a strong wing/forward with a long wingspan. Keauno is a solid rebounder. He is good at getting to the rim and finishing around the basket. Look for him to be a playmaker for ECI Selects.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1046363" first="Jalen" last="May"] (2022) |6-3 F| Fargo North</strong> – A strong and thick player. Jalen can be a tough defender and an opportunistic rebounder. I like his shooting ability. Jalen can get hot in a hurry. He spaces the floor wisely. May sees the floor well and finds the open man.</p> <p><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1162867" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/dixson-1-crop-1164x765-1617649923-300x197.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1129974" first="Alijah" last="Dixson"] (2022) |5-11 G| Enderlin</strong> – A quick-point guard. He is a great decision-maker. Dixson has a smooth pull-up jumper and a fine 3-point shot. Alijah is a creator and facilitator. He is terrific in transition. Dixson is an awesome on-ball defender with great hands and feet.</p> <p><strong><u>Team Notes from Coach Karl Sorby:</u></strong></p> <p>“17u Selects has a nice blend of players that have been in the program for years, and with the additions of Zach, Keauno, and Alijah, we are excited about this group. Although undersized, this group makes up for it with motor, skill, and a desire to compete.
