2021 Top Available Combo Guards

<p>As the calendar turns to April, prospects are starting to decide where they want to play at the next level. Union City combo guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="900336" first="Mike" last="Jackson"]</strong> did just that as he committed to Montclair State recently. The class is still filled with talented guards who can make an impact at the next level. Here are the top available combo guards in the 2021 class.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="900329" first="Marcus" last="Pierce"], 6’2 St. Joseph Academy</strong></p> <p>Pierce was a play-maker for the Wildcats all season long as opponents could not find a way to stop him on a consistent basis. The 6’2 guard attacks the basket with a purpose and is adept at finishing tough layups in traffic. Pierce can also score in the mid-range and makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and is an underrated defender. Pierce is a play-maker who will make a team better with his toughness and ability to score.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="900324" first="Jaylen" last="Boyd-Savage"], 6’3 Paul VI</strong></p> <p>Boyd-Savage has been an integral part of the Eagles’ success over the past three seasons, which should intrigue college coaches. The 6’3 guard has a good handle and is unafraid of attacking the basket against taller defenders. Boyd-Savage is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence. He is a tough on-ball defender with the ability to defend both guard spots. Boyd-Savage’s ability to play at both ends makes him a guard prospect who can help a team right away.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="929528" first="Trevor" last="Bokach"], 6’4 Watchung Hills</strong></p> <p>Bokach’s collegiate future will most likely be at the point, but he has the potential to play off the ball. The 6’4 guard plays with great court vision and is always looking for his teammates in the half court. Bokach can break his defender down off the bounce, but can also make defenders pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He plays with good instincts on the defensive end and has a knack for getting deflections. Bokach’s size mixed with his skill and defense makes him an intriguing guard prospect in the 2021 class.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="900384" first="Danny" last="Lans"], 6’0 St. Joseph (Mont.)</strong></p> <p>Lans is similar but different to Bokach as the St. Joseph (Mont.) guard will probably play point guard at the next level. The 6’0 guard is an explosive athlete who can finish in a variety of ways around the rim. Lans has a solid mid-range game and his quick release makes it hard for defenders to block his shot. He is an underrated passer and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Lans is a scoring lead guard who should make an impact at the next level.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="900327" first="Elijah" last="Barlow"], 6’1 St. Joseph (Met.)</strong></p> <p>Barlow has played both on and off the ball for the Falcons this season, making him a versatile combo guard prospect. The 6’1 guard has a good feel for the game and does not force the issue on the offensive end. Barlow is athletic enough to finish above the rim, but can also knock down jumpers from distance with his good shooting stroke. He plays with active hands on the defensive end and is pesky when defending the ball.
