Chase Brown – 6’3 Guard – Nebraska City
Brown is a certified shooter from range. He went from a spot-up shooter to a solid scorer this season. Brown is a lengthy guard that filled it up from deep and also improved his all-around shot creation. Brown will be a player to watch as he continues to combine a nice mix of length, athleticism, and shooting.
Micah Hartwig – 6’2 Guard – Milford
I love the swagger that Hartwig plays with. In the three-headed monster that Milford deployed this year (Hartwig, Weyand, Stutzman), Hartwig was the main facilitator of the bunch. He is much more than a passer though. He can use his handle to separate into three-pointers, he’s got a bag of different finishing maneuvers around the rim, and is not afraid of the big moment. He should be even more fun to watch in an AAU setting.
Aidan Hedstrom Aidan Hedstrom 6'4" | SF St. Mary’s | 2022 State NE – 6’4 Guard – O’Neill St. Mary’s
Considered by many to be the best player in Class D2, Hedstrom wrought havoc on opposing teams all year. Hedstrom has a very complete game all around. He hit threes at a respectable clip this year and was borderline unstoppable going towards the hoop. His footwork around there is truly remarkable. Hedstrom has all manners of euro steps, spin moves, drop steps, etc. The best part about all this is his efficiency. He shot a very impressive 59% from the field. Area schools should be all over him this summer.
Quinn Johnson Quinn Johnson 6'3" | SG Loomis | 2022 State NE – 6’2 Guard – Loomis
Johnson is one of, if not THE, best shooters in the state of Nebraska. He led the state in made three-pointers and knocked them down in all types of ways. Johnson was a threat to score as soon as he crossed half-court. His release is incredibly quick and it does not matter if a defender has a hand in his face or not. My favorite part of his game is how he uses his jumper to manipulate defenses. His shot fake gets him into the lane where he creates for himself or his teammates. Johnson is always a threat to go “heat check mode” and should be one of the more fun players to watch this summer.
Joe Marfisi – 5’11 Guard – Lincoln East
Marfisi is another tough guard out of Lincoln East. He was a key part of their run to a state berth. Marfisi was not a consistent shooter this year but never shied away from the big moment. He’ll continue to improve as a floor general this summer and I have no doubt his work ethic will make him into another dynamic point guard for East.
Seth Stutzman – 6’5 Forward – Milford
Stutzman is a talented big that completed the star trio for Milford. Seth is extremely versatile, he can bang down low or step out and hit jumpers. He also does a tremendous job of running the floor where he can finish while going right into your chest. Stutzman is a smooth operator in that mid-post area. I love his face-up game where he’s great at ripping through and getting all the way to the cup. He’s shown the ability to make the right pass as well. Stutzman has active hands when he’s playing defense where you’ll often see him intercept or tip passes. He’s a stud athlete and he will be a great addition to this roster.
Landon Tjaden Landon Tjaden 5'8" | SG Waverly | 2022 State NE – 5’9 Guard – Waverly
Tjaden didn’t play this season after getting injured in the first game, so he’ll be itching to show what he’s got this spring/summer. Tjaden is a high-IQ guard that enjoys pushing the ball in transition. He’s got quick hands on defense and he didn’t spend his time injured sitting around idly. He worked hard to get back to playing and has added more strength. Excited to further evaluate him soon!
Eli White – 6’0 Guard – Raymond Central
White is a crafty, lefty guard. He’s much more of an attacker than he is a shooter as of right now. White uses a nice handle to make his consistent forays to the hoop happen. He can create for himself and others. White will continue to improve on his shooting and decision-making.
Myles Hoehne Myles Hoehne 6'2" | SG Lincoln Southwest | 2022 State NE – 6’3 Guard – Lincoln Southwest
Hoehne will be a very nice piece for this team, he’s an unselfish guard that works his tail off. Hoehne battles on the boards and has great potential as a defender. He can do a bit of everything on offense but hasn’t had the consistency thus far. This summer will be big to show his versatility on offense. He will continue to progress as a shooter and should be a key piece for Southwest next season.
