Unsigned Point Guards Still Available

<p>With the start of the season less than two months away, there are still a number of senior point guards looking for a home at the college level. Here’s a look at the top available floor leaders that are evaluating their college options.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="855934" first="Roy" last="Bunn"], Jesuit</strong></p> <p>Pure point guard that can really break down defenders in isolation situations. Has good awareness of where the open man is and drives and dishes out to shooters or guys cutting to the basket. Smaller frame but knows how to score over bigger opponents. Has worked hard on improving his outside shooting. Previously received interest from schools such as Oregon State and Biola but recently announced that his recruitment is wide open.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="606253" first="Damontae" last="Burns"], Parkrose</strong></p> <p>Lead guard with a real knack for scoring. Can really get hot from the perimeter and is capable of creating his own shot off the dribble. Makes good decisions in transition and finishes above the rim. Extremely experienced player who has started at Parkrose since he was a freshman.  Hasn’t had the opportunity to play much basketball since last season ended. Is a national JUCO level recruit.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="855935" first="Nic" last="Boyd"], La Salle</strong></p> <p>Heady point guard that plays with pace. Is capable of looking to create for others but also has a sweet shot from the perimeter. Seemingly plays well with the ball in his hands or without. Hard worker and high-academic student who has generated interest from all three NCAA divisions.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="855937" first="Isaiah" last="Gilliam"], South Albany</strong></p> <p>Played the fall with RON Institute but will finish high school at South Albany. Physical power guard that has continued to build strength and athleticism during his high school career. Absorbs contact on drives to the hoops and finishes at the rim and has worked on improving his jumper. Has garnered D-II and JC interest and remains open.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="746290" first="Brandon" last="Hopson"], Jefferson</strong></p> <p>Transfer from Roosevelt may very well start for the Demos this season. Recently started playing again with Active PCH and has shown the ability to score in bunches. Is effective in transition and is active on defense. Wide open in his recruitment and a big senior year should lead to some offers.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="965078" first="Eli" last="Mesulam"], Cleveland</strong></p> <p>Under the radar performer that emerged as a junior. Gritty competitor on both ends and can bury the outside shot - led 6A in three-point shooting at over 53 percent. Good academics and has gotten interest from Whitford but is looking hard at going the JC route in the NWAC.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="855990" first="Nate" last="Mouzong"], Mountainside</strong></p> <p>Raw athlete with great speed - he also excels in track. Really pushes the ball up the floor in a hurry and can score in transition. Uses athleticism to stay with his assignment on defense. Would be a steal for a two-year program.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="855971" first="Brett" last="Linhart"], Mountainside</strong></p> <p>Gym rat type of point guard who gives full effort on every possession. Looks to make the right play but has a bit of razzle dazzle at times with his passing. Is capable of knocking down open jumpers and hit some clutch shots in some events this winter. Looking for an opportunity at the JC level.</p>
