USA National Prep: Quality Education Academy

<p>Prep Hoops was in attendance all weekend long for all the action at the USA National Prep Tourney in North Myrtle Beach, SC. The Fighting Pharaohs played 3 close games this past weekend at the event. Quality Education Academy defeated Rock Creek Christian (MD), Piedmont Classical and lost to Legacy Early College in the Championship Game 72-59.</p> <p>The Fighting Pharaohs will play later this week in the Hoop State Championships in Rock Hill, SC. Quality Education Academy a #8 seed will face Combine Academy in the opening round game. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="574443" first="Camian" last="Shell"] </strong>came over to QEA after playing at Moravian Prep for a cup of coffee. Shell was consistent with his play and came up big in the opener with a 3-point shot made at the buzzer vs Rock Creek Christian. Shell really got to the foul line vs Legacy Early College making (11-13) shots while finishing with 17 points. Sellars was up and down with his play this weekend. Mills has good body control when trying to stalk the baseline at times. Mills plays the game with a competitive edge and desire. Mills came up really big in a win over Piedmont Classical on his way to scoring 17 points. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/03/E8022BFF-2B6A-41F0-9544-6FADD744ACA8.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1147041" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/03/E8022BFF-2B6A-41F0-9544-6FADD744ACA8-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="932051" first="Javon" last="Floyd"]</strong> and <strong>Charles McClennahan</strong> both showed some good glimpses this weekend. Floyd a slender forward has the ability to challenge shots in the paint with his quick leaping ability. </p> <p>McClennahan brings ability to play inside-out on the floor at times and does his best work inside the paint area. McClennahan has a great nose for the ball. McClennahan can stretch the defense with his ability to knockdown perimeter jumpers. McClennahan and Floyd both played at Calvary Day School last season. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
