The 2021 High School season will look a little different this year, now starting in the spring with a shorten season. There is still a ton of excitement going into the season with player having to work extremely hard this off season, most of which have been training on their own. Here is a look at players to watch out in WESCO.
Tijan Saine Tijan Saine 5'10" | PG Mariner | 2022 WA 5’10 PG Class of 2022
Saine is a crafty point guard with skill on both ends of the floor. He has a very quick fist step which allows him to get to the rim and create for himself and his teammates. He has a great jump shot to go along with strength round the rim. This is a player who is not afraid to take the big shot, and uses that confidence on the defense end as well. His quick feet and hands make him a lock down defender. http://www.hudl.com/v/2DU7Hm
Naser Motley Naser Motley 6'0" | PG Mariner | 2022 WA 6’0 SG Class of 2022
Motley is a lefty with a smooth mid range game. He is one of the more athletic players I have seen and uses that to his advantage, especially on smaller defenders. Along with being knock down shooter, he also uses his frame and strength well to get to the rim. His ability to stop and pull up quickly makes him tough to defend. I think this will be his break out season and this is a young man with a bright future in basketball.
Jailin Johnson 5’10 PG Class of 2023
Johnson proved he belong by not only making varsity as a freshman but having huge games in the 2020 season. What impressed me the most about this young player is his passing ability. His quick handles and ability to get free from his defender forces defenses to rotate and he will find a open teammate. His IQ is very high for his age and when you watch him play you can see that he is disciplined and understand the game. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/14049757/5ee56708f3266108847f5d84
BJ Kolly 6’7 F Class of 2021
Kolly is shot blocking machine with great timing and patients. The key to shot blocking is patient and this kid has that. He is a great rim protector but is talented on the offensive end as well. He is not afraid to put the ball on the floor and go straight to the basket. He has a nice mid range jump shot but is not afraid to shoot the 3 ball. This is his senior year and I anticipated him coming to the season ready to compete at a high level. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hrg6g5awc71r1po/Video%20Feb%2006%2C%2011%2056%2009%20AM.mov?dl=0
Evan Bates 5’10 G Class of 2022
I watched Bates play in a tournament and what impressed me the most about this young player was his ability to shoot the ball from anywhere. He has the ability to create his own shot by using his speed and quickness. With a jump shot that has a even quicker release.
