Danville sneaks by Crawfordsville in loaded opener
It was a huge showdown between Danville and Crawfordsville in the first round of the Sectional 25 and it lived up to the hype. Our player to watch in this sectional, Kobe Ward Kobe Ward 6'3" | SF Danville | 2021 State IN , wasted no time in putting his mark on the state tournament. He scored 10 of his team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning three with 4.2 seconds left to lift the Warriors, 65-62. Overall, Danville outscored Crawfordsville by 11 in the fourth quarter.
Greencastle rolls despite quiet game from Brody Whitaker Brody Whitaker 6'2" | SG Greencastle | 2021 State IN
Greencastle was expected to win this matchup against North Montgomery, and they cruised in a 54-30 victory. Montgomery was coming off of a nearly month-long hiatus due to COVID precautions and the time off really showed. Greencastle’s leading scorer – at 24 points per game – Brody Whitaker Brody Whitaker 6'2" | SG Greencastle | 2021 State IN was held to just eight points, and more eye-popping, just three shots. It now sets up a huge showdown with Danville in Sectional 25.
Scottsburg uses strong second half to put away Charlestown
After a strong first half for Charlestown, leading by as many as 11 points, it managed just 17 points in the second half, being outscored by 15 in the final two quarters in a 60-54 loss to Scottsburg. It shot just 30 percent in the final 16 minutes as Scottsburg blew past the Pirates. Now, at just 6-17, Scottsburg has a huge test going up against Madison (16-8) in the semifinals.

- West Lafayette head coach David Woods retires after 27 years, following tough loss to Western in the sectional opener. Wood finished with a career record of 364-256
- Sectional 26 remains a tough out as Brownstown Central took down a tough Owen Valley squad by 2. It remains a pretty wide open bracket, with three times still remaining that could go on a deep run.
